Good news, the Braves didn't get eliminated Sunday! That means you have three teams worth of players to choose from for your daily fantasy lineup on Monday. The games start at 1:30 PM ET, so get your picks in early. Here are my recommendations.
PITCHER
Dallas Keuchel, HOU at CLE ($8,300): Keuchel didn't have a great year, but he had a 3.73 FIP, and he only allowed 0.79 homers per nine innings. That's in line with his career average, as he's pretty much always suppressed home runs with his pitching. Plus, he had a 3.59 ERA on the road, so it's probably better he's pitching in Cleveland. This isn't an easy matchup, but there are no easy matchups at this point. Keuchel is a little cheaper than some other options, though, which is worth something.
CATCHER/FIRST BASE
Mitch Moreland, BOS at NYY ($3,000): This presumes Moreland's hamstring is healthy enough for him to play. If he's not, I like Steve Pearce ($2,600) in his stead. A healthy Moreland will likely get the start, though, as he is a lefty and the Yankees are starting a righty in Luis Severino. Speaking of Severino, his overall numbers may look good, but after the All-Star break he posted a 5.67 ERA.
SECOND BASE
Gleyber Torres, NYY vs. BOS ($3,000): Torres was quite an impressive rookie, slashing .271/.340/.480 with 24 homers in 123 games. He also hit better at home than on the road. Speaking of home/road splits, Nathan Eovaldi has not pitched well in away games recently. Since 2016 he has a 5.14 ERA on the road.
THIRD BASE
Justin Turner, LAD at ATL ($3,800): Turner has turned himself into an elite hitter with the Dodgers. This year he had a .924 OPS in an injury-shortened season, and that was actually a step down from his .945 OPS in 2017. Mike Foltynewicz had a 2.85 ERA this year, but a 3.41 FIP. This is actually the first time he's had a FIP lower than 4.29 in his career. He also struggled in Game 1 of this series, allowing four runs in a start that lasted only two innings.
SHORTSTOP
Carlos Correa, HOU at CLE ($3,400): This was kind of a lost season for Correa, who suffered with injuries and also bad luck, as he had a .282 BABIP. However, this is a man with a career slash line of .277/.346/.477, so we know he can hit. Mike Clevinger had a solid 3.56 FIP, though he's been a little worse at home the last two seasons, but this is about the potential for Correa to find his old form, which would make him a steal at this price.
OUTFIELD
Andrew Benintendi, BOS at NYY ($3,700): Though Benintendi dropped from 20 homers to 16, his slugging percentage actually rose to .465. Once again, he struggled against lefties, but against righties he posted a .877 OPS. As previously noted, Severino is right-handed, and also had a 5.67 ERA after the All-Star break.
Ronald Acuna, ATL vs. LAD ($3,500): Acuna added to his legend with a grand slam Sunday, but this isn't about that. It's about the 24 homers and 16 stolen bases he had as a rookie, and also his .992 OPS against lefties. Rich Hill is a southpaw, and he's starting for the Dodgers in Game 4. Acuna may not hit another grand slam, but he doesn't need to in order to have a huge game.
Yasiel Puig, LAD at ATL ($2,600): Puig is surely happy to see a righty on the mound for the Braves, and also to be on the road. He put up a .921 OPS against righties this year, and a .965 OPS in away games. The Cuban slugger is worth a shot under these circumstances against almost any pitcher, but Foltynewicz and his 3.41 FIP isn't necessarily an ace.
