2025 Fantasy Outlook
Although he’s somewhat overshadowed because he’s playing on a team flush with high-end forwards, Point is an elite scorer in his own right. He’s one of just four players in the league who have recorded at least 40 goals and 80 points in each of the past three seasons. He’s also a solid source of power-play points, having contributed at least 30 in each of the past three seasons, though he doesn’t log as many shots as other goal scorers. Despite finishing the 2024-25 regular season with 42 goals and 82 points, he dipped below 200 shots (189), and his career high is 235. Point instead gets his markers by being efficient, which is impressive but is also one of the few detriments to his fantasy value. He doesn’t contribute much outside of offense, but given his recent consistency, another campaign in the 40-goal, 80-point range is a reasonable expectation. Read Past Outlooks
Injured in Philadelphia
Point (lower body) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game in Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Immediately after Point scored a goal on the power play during the middle frame, Cam York fell onto Point's right leg, per Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com. Point wasn't able to leave the ice under his own power and ultimately did not return to the game. The Lightning will play in the second half of a back-to-back Tuesday in Pittsburgh, so given the quick turnaround, Point should not be expected to be available for that matchup. It's a possibility the right-shot center will return to Tampa Bay in the near future to be fully evaluated. The Lightning's current road trip concludes Sunday in Dallas.

Point provided 46 goals and 90 points in 81 regular-season contests last season, largely replicating his 51-goal and 95-point showing in 82 appearances in 2022-23. After enjoying that level of dominance over consecutive campaigns, it seems reasonable to expect more of the same out of the 28-year-old this year. His 20.3 shooting percentage in 2023-24 was very high -- only Sam Reinhart's 24.5 exceeded Point's shooting percentage among players who recorded at least 120 shots. Point had a 21.7 shooting percentage in 2022-23 and his career average is 18.3, so fantasy managers needn't view the stat as a warning sign of a possible regression. What it does mean, though, is he tends to fire fewer shots than other elite forwards; he tied with Matt Boldy for 48th in that category with 227, so that's one minor knock against Point, who should still offer strong fantasy value.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Will travel to Pittsburgh
Head coach Jon Cooper said that Point, who suffered a lower-body injury during Monday's 5-1 win over the Flyers, will travel with the team to Pittsburgh, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper did not have any information to relay about Point's injury. The Lightning play in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, so it's a relatively positive update that Point will stay with the team for now instead of heading back to Tampa Bay. If Point is forced to miss any upcoming games, Anthony Cirelli will most likely center the No. 1 line.
