Jerami Grant

Houston Jerami Grant was born in Portland, Oregon in 1994. He is the son of Harvey and Beverly Grant. Harvey, also known as "The General", played 11 seasons in the NBA for the Bullets, Trail Blazers and 76ers. Grant's uncle, Horace Grant, played in the NBA for 17 seasons. Jerami has three brothers. He is a big Washington Redskins fan and enjoys listening to Kendrick Lamar. Grant leads the Hour Generation Foundation, which assists inner city kids and single parents. Follow the forward on Instagram and Twitter (@jeramigrant). Grant spent two seasons under coach John Beiheim as a bouncy wing at the corner for the famed 2-3 Orange zone. As a freshman, the 6-foot-8 Grant started nine of 40 games. His starts were almost exclusively in February during the Orange's last season in the Big East. Grant played all 40 minutes in a win over Notre Dame and contributed 14 points and six rebounds. Syracuse advanced to the Final Four and Grant played a supporting role in the five games in the NCAA Tournament. He started 20 games as a sophomore despite opening the season coming off the bench. By conference play, the forward was entrenched as a starter and had six of his seven double-doubles. On the season, he averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds. The Orange were bounced from their first ACC Tournament despite 19 points and 10 rebounds from Grant. After his sophomore season, Grant declared that he would give up two years of eligibility and go pro. Grant was selected with the 39th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.
