Pitcher
Jon Gray, COL at SD ($9,000) – Gray has been abnormally reliable for a guy that spends half of his time pitching in Colorado. Gray enters with a 3.75 ERA this season, and he's been particularly sharp over his past two starts, recording 17 strikeouts while allowing two runs in 12 innings. The only issue with Gray is that he generally doesn't get too deep into games, but the magic six-inning mark is all we need as long as he posts 7-9 strikeouts.
Catcher
Chris Iannetta, AZ vs MIA ($2,400) – There are a couple reasons to look at Iannetta. First, he's hit lefties well this year and second, he's been known to sneak into the top of the lineup in such situations. I'm expecting a big number from the Diamondbacks tonight, and Iannetta will probably be the cheapest part of that stack.
First Base
Matt Olson, OAK vs TEX ($4,200) – It hasn't taken Olson long to go from the ranks of the unknown to almost the highest-priced first baseman on the board. Olson has 12 home runs this month already and has done most of his damage against righties. He gets a righty in Marin Perez tonight, who has struggled all season to the tune of a 5.47 ERA. Olson enters with a .437 wOBA against right-handers, which leads the A's and is top-5 in the majors.
Second Base
Brian Dozier, MN at DET ($3,900) – Apparently, as long as the Twins aren't playing the Yankees, they're dangerous. They pounded out 12 runs last night and with Daniel Norris on the mound tonight, they might just reach double-digits again. Dozier enters with a .419 wOBA against lefties this season.
Shortstop
Jose Reyes, NYM at WASI ($4,100) – Reyes was hitting so poorly during the first few months of the season, it was reasonable to wonder if his career was almost over. He's had a major turnaround over the past couple months and there are certainly no more worries about his level of play. Edwin Jackson takes the mound for the Nats, and while he started the season well, he's been a wreck lately, allowing 12 runs in his past two starts.
Third Base
Mike Moustakas, KC at CHW ($2,900) – Reynaldo Lopez takes the mound for the White Sox, and although he's been sharp in spots, his ERA entering this game is 4.84. Moustakas, much like the Royals, has run hot and cold all season, and although he's not in the midst of a hot streak, we are getting a break on his price and he always has upside. Moustakas enters with a .359 wOBA against righties this season.
Outfield
Byron Buxton, MN at DET ($2,900) – As mentioned, with Norris on the mound for the Tigers, the Twins are in play for a stack tonight. Buxton has cooled off considerably from a hot streak that occupied most of the summer, but the good news is that his price has dropped below $3k. Buxton has been better against lefties than righties this season and there is plenty of upside at this price, as he enters with a .350 wOBA against southpaws.
Charlie Blackmon, COL at SD ($4,200) – The Rockies have struggled a bit lately at the plate, causing their prices to come down. They get a great matchup against former teammate Jordan Lyles on Friday, which should collectively snap them out of their funk. Blackmon is the most likely to get to Lyles as he enters with a .427 wOBA against righties this season, which is tops on the Rockies and top-10 in the majors.
J.D. Martinez, AZ vs MIA ($4,600) – Martinez is facing a vulnerable lefty and that's really about all you need to know. Adam Conley (5.20 ERA) takes the hill for the Marlins, which puts the Diamondbacks in play, and while their pitchers have struggled recently, the D-Backs' bats have been just fine. Martinez enters with a .522 wOBA against lefties this season, which is tops on the Diamondbacks and third in the majors.
