FPL Waiver Wire: Gameweek 15 Differentials

There's one day of rest between Gameweek 14 and Gameweek 15, so don't forget to update the squad and set your new captain. Since last week's article, Tammy Abraham was injured in Champions League play and will likely miss another match or two. He was dropped by close to one million players at the Premier League's official fantasy game ahead of Gameweek 14, and that'll continue ahead of 15. While he was fairly cheap, there are still viable options to use in the coming matches.

FPL DIFFERENTIALS

Most fantasy managers turned to Raul Jimenez in place of Abraham, and he's now the fourth-most popular forward. There are a few differential moves, and one of them is Wolverhampton teammate Diogo Jota. While they have the same schedule, he's made the score-sheet just once this season. I'd rather take a different route and see if Lys Mousset can continue his form, with four goals and three assists in his last six appearances. While he's unlikely to match that exact production, the matchups against Newcastle, Norwich City and Aston Villa should result in at least one appearance on the score-sheet. Danny Ings is another option, with six goals in his last eight appearances, and he has almost the same schedule as Mousset. A lot of owners transferred in Michy Batshuayi, but that clearly backfired after he didn't appear against West Ham.

Sticking with those same matchups in the midfield, Joao Moutinho and Adama Traore lead the list. Moutinho is creating multiple chances almost every match because of set pieces and is oddly on about the same number of teams as N'Golo Kante and Jorginho despite having a similar price. John Fleck and James Ward-Prowse are less popular than Moutinho, which should also change in the coming weeks. Ward-Prowse has dropped in price since the beginning of the season, but he's scored in three of the last four matches and recently took a penalty over Danny Ings (though he missed). If you're one of the many people who still have Daniel James, Youri Tielemans or Bernardo Silva, there are plenty of cheaper options with favorable upcoming schedules.

Unsurprisingly, it's a similar situation at defender because not many people own players from Sheffield United (other than John Lundstram), Southampton or Wolverhampton. You can throw Wilfried Zaha and Crystal Palace into the mix, though their attacking production has often been unpredictable. Either way, their next five are against teams in the bottom half of the table. I'd trust Sheffield United for clean sheets first, and they have a bevy of starting defenders who are close to minimal pricing, George Baldock included. Sure, Lundstram is on almost every team, but Baldock has made the score-sheet three times. Conor Coady may be the next best choice because it's a little harder to trust Southampton for clean sheets and Crystal Palace are dealing with injuries, so most of those guys won't start every match.

FANTRAX FINDS

With Sergio Aguero and Tammy Abraham both injured, a lot of people are in need of a forward. The good news is that the schedule is picking up and it wouldn't be surprising to see a new face or two in the starting XI for midweek matches. That could mean super-sub Kelechi Iheanacho or one of the many widely available options with a good matchup. Mousset and David McGoldrick have been steadily added the last few weeks, but Ismaila Sarr is in the conversation after scoring his first goal, and Michael Obafemi has started the last two for Southampton. These aren't great options, but if you need a starting forward, they're at least getting on the pitch.

In the midfield, Kenny McLean, Tom Trybull and Ben Godfrey (listed as M/D) are doing a little bit of everything for a seemingly resurgent Norwich. A trip to Southampton shouldn't be too difficult, so more success is possible for the Canaries. Joe Willock may also be worth a flier after starting the first match under Freddie Ljungberg, albeit with minimal production. Cheikhou Kouyate is one of the few regulars who is widely available and worth a look because of Palace's upcoming fixtures, which includes Tuesday's home contest against Bournemouth.

You can stick with Palace at defender because all signs point to a start for Mamadou Sakho at center-back with a clean sheet possible, and the same goes for James Tomkins and Martin Kelly. Cedric Soares has a few recent starts, and while he doesn't accrue a ton of fantasy points, home against Norwich could change that. Then again, Norwich have looked a bit better in recent matches, making Christoph Zimmermann and Sam Byram viable options.

CAPTAIN DEEP DIVES

Gameweek 15 has another set of matches with numerous large favorites. Most fantasy players will turn to Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah against Everton, with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling also getting love at Burnley. On a short week, Arsenal should score a couple against Brighton, who are finishing up their brutal stretch of fixtures. If you want to do what no one else is, I think Sheffield United will score a couple against Newcastle, with Mousset and McGoldrick most likely to find the back of the net, assuming they start again. It also wouldn't be surprising if West Ham's win at Chelsea was a one-time thing, meaning Jimenez is in play for another goal or two. He's getting added every week for a reason and has five goals and three assists in his last six starts in all competitions.
