Fantasy Premier League Rankings: Top Midfielders for 2020/21

Our top forwards for the 2020/21 season were released yesterday and we're going to keep going with the midfielders. Using the same methodology described in the forwards rankings, an FPL index score was created for each midfielder using their projected minutes, goals, assists, shots on target and chances created while adding in an extra boost for clean sheets because midfielders earn one fantasy point per clean sheet in the Premier League's official game.

This season's group of midfielders is absolutely loaded because of a number of players who were classified as forwards being moved to the midfield because Opta more times than not considered them attacking midfielders. As a result, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes and Jack Grealish will have to compete with players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marcus Rashford for the top spot at the position.

As I mentioned in the forwards rankings, these will change as projections change, and those are updated whenever there is a transfer, injury or change in playing time situation. The rankings will not change as frequently as the projections, but be sure that we will have multiple updates leading up to the start of the season.
