PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Darren Randolph, WHU v. MCI ($6,100): Welcoming Manchester City is never an easy task, but the West Ham defense has been solid of late, with Randolph allowing multiple goals just once in his last seven starts, picking up 22 saves over that span. Opposing keeper Claudio Bravo actually comes in $100 cheaper, though he's failed to make a single save in three of his last four starts, with only one save in the other game.
DEFENDERS
Harry Maguire, HUL at MUN ($6,100): Maguire is coming off a monster fantasy performance for a defender, finishing with 49.75 fantasy points despite not scoring a goal or assisting on one. He has taken at least one shot in eight straight games and while only twice has he gotten some on target, he continues to rack up tackles, clearances and interceptions, all things he should get plenty of opportunities to get against the solid Man United attack.
James Collins, WHU v. MCI ($4,600): The West Ham defense is likely to see the team debut of Jose Fonte ($5,500), but Collins could also get a start if manager Slaven Bilic chooses a back three of Fonte, Collins and Winston Reid ($6,300). Collins' fantasy value will likely come from clearances, which could be plentiful against the strong Man City attack, though admittedly his greatest contribution is the salary savings.
Glen Johnson, STK v. EVE ($5,400): Johnson has been a steady source of clearances over the past few games, and he's been able to supplement them with multiple tackles and interceptions. His upside isn't terribly high in the attack, despite a chance created in each of the last two, but he should be capable of racking up defensive statistics against a strong (at least lately) Everton attack.
MIDFIEDLERS
Kevin De Bruyne, MCI at WHU ($10,200): De Bruyne broke out for 41.25 fantasy points in his last start after four straight games with fewer than 18. Much of that was goal-aided, and it was a bit of a lucky goal at that, but he still represents the best midfield upside on the slate. He comes in leading the league in assists (nine), and he's tied for the most chances created over the last six gameweeks.
Robert Snodgrass, WHU v. MCI ($6,200): Snodgrass is one of the players that De Bruyne is tied with in chances created over the last six weeks (Christian Eriksen is the other), and it's actually the new Hammer who has the sole lead over the last four gameweeks. There's no guarantee that Snodgrass gets the start in the first game he's eligible to play for West Ham, but with Dimitri Payet now in France, there's little reason for the club to hold him back.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, MUN v. HUL ($8,400): The presence of both Daley Blind and Juan Mata in the lineup in their last Premier League match put a bit of a cap on Mkhitaryan's fantasy value, but he was still able to create three chances and get a shot on goal. If Blind and Mata aren't starting, Mkhitaryan is a near must-play against a Hull side that should be well overmatched.
FORWARDS
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, MUN v. HUL ($13,200): Ibrahimovic leads the league in shots and shots on target, and his 35 chances created are the most of any forward on the slate. He has by far the highest expected goal scorer odds and fading him could be detrimental in cash and tournaments. Paying down for Marcus Rashford ($9,400) or Anthony Martial ($8,300) isn't a crazy idea, but the upside isn't as high.
Saido Berahino, STK v. EVE ($6,900): Berahino hasn't played a Premier League match since Sept. 10, but his icy time at West Brom is in the rear-view mirror thanks to his move to Stoke. Getting a start isn't guaranteed, but Berahino figures to be plenty active if he's in the first XI, and his salary fits comfortably alongside Ibrahimovic's five-figure one.
