PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Wayne Hennessey, CRY at SOU ($4,000): Hennessey is by no means a good goalkeeper, but he is coming off an excellent 10-save outing in a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and he's facing a Southampton side that has forced the fourth-most saves this season, including the fourth-most per game at home, while only scoring the 15th-most (tied) goals. With star attacker Manolo Gabbiadini doubtful to play, the Saints attack will have even less bite than normal.
DEFENDER
James Milner, LIV v. BOU ($6,800): Milner is absurdly expensive, but he's also sharing corners with Philippe Coutinho, taking penalties and facing a Bournemouth side that's allowed the second-most crosses over the last six gameweeks. With Liverpool heavily favored, and expected to score multiple times, Milner's reliability should be realized, with the potential for more.
Ahmed Elmohamaday, HUL v. MID ($3,900): Teammate Andrew Robertson ($4,300) makes for a solid play as well, though he will lose his partial role on corners if Kamil Grosicki returns to the starting XI. Elmohamaday has been a decent open-play crosser of late and will now face a Boro side that has allowed plenty of crosses this season and comes in with one goal in their last six matches (and none in their last five away games).
Arthur Masuaku, WHU at ARS ($4,200): Masuaku is expected to get the start at left-back in place of the injured Aaron Cresswell ($3,900), and the attack-minded defender will be sending in crosses against an Arsenal defense that will be without without starting center-back Laurent Koscielny, and they could be using third-string goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez thanks to injuries to Petr Cech and David Ospina. West Ham have a number of big players who can occupy space the box, giving Masuaku solid targets for his passes from the wing.
MIDFIELDER
Philippe Coutinho, LIV v. BOU ($8,800): Coutinho's run of sending in at least eight crosses ended at six games during the Merseyside derby last weekend even though Liverpool won 3-1. Nevertheless, he seems poised to bounce back Wednesday against Bournemouth, with Liverpool coming in as the biggest favorites on the slate and Coutinho needing to step up in the attack with Sadio Mane (knee) and Adam Lallana (thigh) out. He's already a prolific shooter, as his 3.93 shots per 90 minutes rank second among Wednesday's players. If you're looking for a bit of a GPP punt, Georginio Wijnaldum ($4,500) has three goals on 11 shots (six on goal) and an assist in his last four home matches.
Christian Eriksen, TOT at SWA ($10,400): The high-end discussion revolves around Eriksen and Gylfi Sigurdsson ($10,700), two players who have been cash game staples this year because of their solid consistent scores. While Sigurdsson is at home, he'll be facing off against a top six (Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool) side, something that hasn't produced a plethora of fantasy points this season. In fact, Sigurdsson averages just 2.1 shots and 4.3 crosses per 90 minutes against those teams this season, while he blisters everyone else, averaging 4.1 shots and 9.9 crosses per 90. Not to put too much emphasis on one previous match, but Sigurdsson took one shot and sent in two crosses against Spurs earlier this season. Meanwhile, Eriksen has been the model cash-game player, taking 25 shots (seven on goal) and sending in 55 crosses in his last seven games. And how did he do in this matchup earlier this season? He scored twice on seven shots (four on goal), assisted another and sent in seven crosses in a 5-0 win.
Wilfried Zaha, CRY at SOU ($6,900): Zaha, who had a goal and an assist in Palace's shocking win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this past weekend, has been Palace's best attacker all season, and he'll now head to St. Mary's Stadium, where Southampton have just four points in their last three games. He's excellent at drawing fouls, while he also takes shots and sends in crosses, giving him a very solid floor and an explosive ceiling if he can find the back of the net for the third time in the last four league games.
FORWARD
Kamil Grosicki, HUL v. MID ($7,000): Grosicki didn't start Hull's match against West Ham this past weekend, but he came on at halftime and assisted two goals while also taking two shots (one on goal) and sending in two crosses. With the expectation that he moves back into the starting lineup Wednesday, Grosicki will face off against a Middlesbrough defense that has allowed the second-most crosses per game among Wednesday's teams.
Alexis Sanchez, ARS v. WHU ($10,500): While Arsenal have had plenty of struggles lately, Alexis has been one of the few bright spots. He comes in with 18 goals and nine assists in 28 Premier League appearances, and he has the best anytime goal-scoring odds on the slate. He demolished West Ham in their previous meeting this season, which was at London Stadium, bagging a hat trick on five shots (four on goal) and assisting another in a 5-1 victory. West Ham will be without at least two starting defenders, and Alexis figures to get plenty of action whether he starts at center-forward or on the wing.
Michail Antonio, WHU at ARS ($6,700): Antonio is expected to return from a hamstring injury, and he could wreck havoc on the Arsenal defense if he starts in an attacking position (he sometimes starts at right-back, which limits his goal upside). He has taken multiple shots and sent in multiple crosses in four consecutive league games, so if he finds the back of the net, he'll provide more than just the goal. Teammate Andy Carroll ($5,700) has better anytime goal odds, though his floor is much lower.
