2025 Fantasy Outlook
Reid won the 2023-24 Sixth Man of the Year award, but last season may have been his best campaign of his career, seeing an increased workload for a third straight season. Functioning as a frontcourt reserve, the LSU product averaged 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 27.5 minutes last season - all career highs. His development as a passer was significant, as he went from averaging 1.9 assists per 36 minutes in 2023-24 to 3.0 assists per 36 in 2024-25. Reid made that improvement while lowering his turnover rate. While his fantasy ceiling is limited when both Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert are healthy, Reid's workload is set to increase whenever either of those players misses time. He's also a decent enough option coming off the bench to be worth rostering in 12-team formats. Read Past Outlooks
Goes for 15 and seven boards
Reid closed with 15 points (6-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and one block across 23 minutes during Monday's 117-112 overtime loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Reid led all bench scorers once again, but he did not shoot well from beyond the arc. Reid will continue to operate as one of the team's primary contributors within the second unit, and he averages 13.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.0 threes across 24.4 minutes on the season.

Reid is one of the most intriguing big men in the NBA, but it's frustrating to see him stuck in a bench role with Minnesota. Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert were ahead of Reid, and after a blockbuster trade, Julius Randle will replace Towns in 2024-25. In a reduced role, Reid averaged 12.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.8 threes in his 83 games coming off the bench last season, including the postseason. That's a glimpse of what makes him so special despite playing just 23 minutes a night. We also saw Reid average 17.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.4 blocks and 2.9 threes across 29.2 minutes in his 14 regular-season games as a starter. There aren't many players with that sort of diverse stat line, and everyone could see it at times during the postseason. The fact is, Reid will likely never play more than 25 minutes as long as Gobert and Randle are healthy. However, Reid still has value because of how dominant he can be in that limited role, taking down Sixth Man of the Year last year. He's also just one injury away from being a top-40 player, so he's one of the toughest players to value heading into drafts.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to return to Minnesota
Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch revealed he expects Reid to return to Minnesota for the 2025-26 season, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Reid holds a player option worth $15 million, so the Timberwolves can't control what the star forward will want to do. However, the Timberwolves are in win-now mode, and it would be hard for the team to replace Reid's contributions via free agency. Expect the Timberwolves to do everything they can to keep the big man around for 2025-26 and beyond. Reid averaged a career-high 14.2 points per game across 80 regular-season appearances in 2024-25.
