Tournament Preview

The European Tour returns to action this week after a short hiatus.  Trophee Hassan II, in Morocco will be contested for the fourth year in a row at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.  The lengthy tree-lined course is said to be a tough test of golf. Precision will be key this week with water and bunkers throughout.  Past leaderboards have been filled with ball strikers and those good around the green. It has been said that this is a second-shot golf course.  Course history and recent form will also determine the picks.

Key Stats to Winning at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam

2014 - Alejandro Canizares

DraftKings Picks (with odds)

Victor Dubuisson - $9,200 (30/1)

Dubuisson seems like a great place to start at the top.  He is a significant savings compared to the top tier choices, with still plenty of upside.  He finished T4 in 2017 at Trophee Hassan II. That also was after an extended break, so not much concern with shaking off the rust.  His last start was a T10 at Hero Indian Open and has two additional top 20s this season. Dubuisson is ranked eighth on tour in driving accuracy and is 32nd in greens in regulation.

Maximilian Kieffer - $8,100 (50/1)

Kieffer arrives in Morocco with all the stats needed to pull off the win.  He is 15th in driving accuracy, 20th in greens in regulation and 16th in scrambling.  He has made five of seven cuts this season and has finished T5 or better twice. His track record here isn't the strongest with a T41 and a MC, but his game has improved and appears ideal for Royal Golf Dar Es Salam this year.

Jason Scrivener - $7,700 (55/1)

The Australian has been having a great season.  He has four top-10s and only one missed cut, which came at Maybank Championship.  He is accurate off the tee, hitting more than 68 percent of fairways. Scrivener is solid on approach also, ranking ninth in greens in regulation.  He missed the cut last year at Trophee Hassan II, but finished T10 in 2016.

Adrian Otaegui - $7,600 (50/1)

Otaegui is familiar with Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, he has played the last three years and has not missed a cut.  His highest finish came last year with a T19. This season started off slowly for Otaegui, but he is starting to pick up steam and comes to Morocco following a T10 at Hero Indian Open.  He is accurate both off the tee and with his irons. He appears to be a value play at this price and should improve on his finish from last year.
