Tournament Preview

This week the European Tour heads to Shenzhen for the China Open.  Genzon Golf Club is the host for the first time since 2014.  The undulating course is set between lakes and forests with wide tree-lined fairways.  Paspalum greens are protected by water and bunkers. The finishing stretch is increasingly difficult, being exposed and with additional hazards.  Shenzhen International was contested at Genzon in 2015-2017 and will be used for additional course history.

Key Stats to Winning at Genzon GC

• Greens in Regulation
• Par 5 Scoring
• SG: Putting
• Driving Distance

Past Champions

2018 - Alexander Bjork
2017 - Alexander Levy
2016 - Haotong Li
2015 - Ashun Wu
2014 - Alexander Levy

DraftKings Picks (with odds)

Nacho Elvira - $9,000 (28/1)

Elvira is in a great bounce-back spot this week.  He missed the cut last week after finishing T6, solo second and T2 the three tournaments prior.  Elvira has had favorable results at Genzon GC in the past. He has finished T25, T8 and T15 on this course since 2014.  He is ranked 24th on tour in par 5 scoring and 47th in SG: putting.

David Lipsky - $8,700 (33/1)

Lipsky has been having a successful season.  His last three finishes have been, solo fifth, T22 and T13.  He is hitting more than 68 percent of greens in regulation and is ranked 79th on tour in SG: putting.  He is one of the top golfers in par 5 scoring, ranked at 13th on tour. Lipsky was T5 at Genzon in 2017 at Shenzhen International, which should further fuel the momentum heading into this week.

Scott Hend - $8,100 (40/1)

This week appears to be a good spot for Hend.  He has missed only two cuts in 11 events this season, and he is returning to a golf course that he has enjoyed success on.  Hend was T4 in 2016 and T15 in 2015 at Shenzhen International. He is 48th on tour in par 5 scoring, 72 in greens in regulation and 28th in SG: putting.

Matthias Schwab - $7,900 (50/1)

Schwab has only missed one cut in 10 events this season.  He is trending toward the top, his last three finishes have been T9, T18, T30.  Schwab does not have any history at Genzon to reference, but his game should match well.  He is 23rd on tour in par 5 scoring and 73rd in greens in regulation. His putter can let him down at times, but if it heats up, he will be right there come Sunday.
