Samuel Ersson

Samuel Ersson

25-Year-Old GoalieG
Philadelphia Flyers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Ersson emerged as the starter for the Flyers in 2023-24. He got off to a solid start, but his play suffered as the season progressed. He was elite until Jan. 18 (.927 save percentage and 1.85 GAA) if you omit the 12 goals allowed in his first two outings of the year. After that, he posted a 3.23 GAA and an .876 save percentage in 31 contests. Ersson will split time this season with Ivan Fedotov, and that rest should help him avoid the rigors of a heavy workload. Consequently, Ersson could be a potential steal in daily formats where lightning in a bottle can deliver positive results. However, he may not be a suitable long-term option for fantasy managers if his consistency doesn't improve. Read Past Outlooks

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Added to 4 Nations roster
GPhiladelphia Flyers
January 29, 2025
Ersson will replace Jacob Markstrom, who is out with a knee injury, for Team Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off.
ANALYSIS
Ersson will join Linus Ullmark, who is sidelined with a back injury of his own, and Filip Gustavsson on the Swedish roster ahead of the international tournament. At this point, it seems Gustavsson is the most likely candidate to feature as the No. 1 option for Sweden, but Ersson is making a strong case for himself, having gone 6-1-0 with a 2.13 GAA in his last seven outings.
