2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rai had a career year in 2024 going 21-for-25 with six top-10s and 13 top-25s. He also collected his first career PGA Tour victory at the Wyndham Championship. It was part of a red hot stretch that included four top-seven finishes in five starts. Rai ranked sixth last season in SG: Total led by his terrific iron play. The Englishman was seventh in SG: Approach and ninth in GIR percentage. He also led the PGA Tour in driving accuracy. Given his ball-striking numbers, if Rai is able to have a good week on the greens he is going to find himself in the mix. It's probably unlikely he reaches his earnings total from 2024, but Rai's floor remains pretty respectable. Read Past Outlooks
Beats Fleetwood in playoff
Rai defeated Tommy Fleetwood on the first playoff hole to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship following his five-under 67 in the final round.
ANALYSIS
With everyone making birdies on Sunday, Rai needed to come up clutch down the stretch. He had a key par save on 15 and then followed with back-to-back birdies at 16 and 17. Rai would have a chance to reach 26-under-par for the week and shut the door with a birdie on 18, but his putt just burned the edge. The Englishman would be faced with the task of having to stare down the defending FedExCup champ Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff to take home the victory. Rai did just that and would this time convert for birdie from a similar distance on the first extra hole. The win was Rai's third on the DP World Tour and moves him up to ninth in the Race to Dubai standings heading to the DP World Tour Championship next week.

2022
Rai is coming off a respectable second season on Tour in which he once again qualified for the playoffs. He primarily turned his attention to the DP World Tour this past fall, posting three top-10s across five events, most notably at T-2 result at the marquee BMW PGA Championship. The 28-year-old is an accurate driver and solid iron player (35th in strokes-gained approach) that is capable of having an even better third season if he can improve his putting. Rai's other downside is that he's not very long (151st in driving distance), but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him in contention often on shorter setups.
