2025 Fantasy Outlook
Williams heads to New England as the 69th overall pick after a college career with five consecutive seasons of more than 400 yards, including receiving lines of 61-843-6 (2023) and 70-1,198-14 (2024) after transferring to Washington State. Unlike most five-year contributors, he's not especially old for his draft class, having first played at UNLV when he was just 17 years old. Williams proved his speed with a 4.40 at this year's combine, although his jumps (36.5-inch vertical, 119-inch broad jump) hint at merely average athleticism for a 5-foot-11, 190-pound wideout. In New England, he'll have a chance to immediately become QB Drake Maye's top deep threat -- a role 2023 sixth-round pick Kayshon Boutte handled with mixed results last year. The Patriots' top targets otherwise are 31-year-old Stefon Diggs (rehabbing an ACL tear), slot receiver DeMario Douglas and tight end Hunter Henry, which means there are plenty of downfield targets for the taking in an offense with a strong-armed, aggressive QB. New England adds speedy wideout
The Patriots selected Williams in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 69th overall.
ANALYSIS
Williams (5-foot-11, 190 pounds) might lack the hands to run routes into the teeth of the defense underneath and over the middle, but as a speed-oriented downfield threat he could prove credible in the NFL. Williams produced at a high level for both UNLV (2020-22) and Washington State (2023-24), and as a big-play specialist he was particularly convincing. Williams' 4.40-second 40-yard dash implies he has the speed to keep winning downfield in the NFL, and the Patriots notably lacked a vertical threat before selecting Williams.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Deep threat in Pats' offense
Tedd Nguyen of The Athletic believes Williams will be put to good use in offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' scheme.
ANALYSIS
Though he's listed at 5-foot-10, Williams emerged as a legitimate deep threat at Washington State by using his explosive first step to get vertical and track down deep passes. He complements the skill sets of Stefon Diggs and DeMario Douglas, and Nguyen believes McDaniels will work with quarterback Drake Maye to take advantage of Williams' big-play ability. Williams finished his final season at Washington State with 70 catches for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 games.
