2025 Fantasy Outlook
Picked up in a trade with the Panthers last November, Mingo did little over eight games with the Cowboys after disappointing during his season and a half in Carolina. The 2023 second-round pick showed some elite athleticism at the combine that year, but it's rarely shown up on the field, either in college or the NFL. Mingo was expected to fight for a depth role at WR in Dallas behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens before suffering a PCL sprain in mid-August that likely will force an IR stint to begin the campaign. Knee - PCL
August 19, 2025
Mingo (knee) is expected to begin the regular season on IR due to a PCL sprain suffered during Dallas' preseason loss to Baltimore on Saturday, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Mingo is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks, if not longer, due to the knee injury he picked up while hauling in a 49-yard reception in the third quarter Saturday. The third-year wideout will likely be placed on IR on Aug. 26, when the initial 53-man roster is finalized. Once healthy, Mingo will be competing for reps and targets with CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin.

2023
As a rookie in a limited offense, Mingo had a respectable 85 targets in 15 games. With the Carolina receiver group being led by the 33-year-old Adam Thielen, there wasn’t major competition for targets. Unfortunately, Mingo struggled with drops and ended the season catching just 50.6 percent of his passes. The receiver wasn’t very effective with a 40th percentile yards after the catch rate. It’s possible that both Mingo and rookie quarterback Bryce Young were overmatched as rookies. Although there weren’t many positives to take from Mingo’s rookie season, it’s possible we see improvement in his second season. However, after the team added Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette in the offseason, Mingo may struggle to see consistent snaps. Unless the second-year receiver can push Adam Thielen for work, Mingo may be the No. 4 receiver.
Carolina made Mingo the fifth wide receiver drafted this April, 39th overall, after an impressive showing at the combine moved him up boards. He managed a 4.46 40, 22 bench-press reps, a 129-inch broad jump and 39.5-inch vertical at 6-2, 220. Mingo's college career was less impressive, as he came in as a four-star recruit and got playing time right away but had only 551 receiving yards in his first two seasons. He then broke out at the start of his junior season with a 15-290-3 line his first three games, only to suffer a foot fracture in practice and be held out until the final three games (at which point he did nothing). Mingo came back healthy last year and caught 51 balls for 861 yards and five TDs in 13 games, finishing second in each category to Packers UDFA signing Malik Heath (who ran a 4.64 40). The landing spot in Carolina gives Mingo a shot at a lot of playing time early. None of the WR options are locks for starter snaps, and it helps that the Panthers don't have a dedicated slot specialist, as the rookie mostly played inside at Ole Miss. He also has the size and speed to at least theoretically challenge Adam Thielen, DJ Chark and Terrace Marshall for perimeter snaps in an offense led by coach Frank Reich and QB Bryce Young.

Set for Dallas debut
WRDallas Cowboys
November 14, 2024
Mingo is expected to make his Cowboys debut against the Texans on Monday Night Football, per Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
ANALYSIS
Mingo was acquired by the Cowboys from the Panthers in a trade on November 5, but he subsequently sat out his new team's Week 10 loss to the Eagles. The 2023 second-round draft pick could contend for a prominent role right away since Jalen Tolbert has a tenuous grasp on the second spot on the wide receiver depth chart behind CeeDee Lamb, while nobody has stepped up as a productive third option in the absence of Brandin Cooks, who remains on injured reserve due to a knee injury.
