2024 Fantasy Outlook
As a rookie in a limited offense, Mingo had a respectable 85 targets in 15 games. With the Carolina receiver group being led by the 33-year-old Adam Thielen, there wasn’t major competition for targets. Unfortunately, Mingo struggled with drops and ended the season catching just 50.6 percent of his passes. The receiver wasn’t very effective with a 40th percentile yards after the catch rate. It’s possible that both Mingo and rookie quarterback Bryce Young were overmatched as rookies. Although there weren’t many positives to take from Mingo’s rookie season, it’s possible we see improvement in his second season. However, after the team added Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette in the offseason, Mingo may struggle to see consistent snaps. Unless the second-year receiver can push Adam Thielen for work, Mingo may be the No. 4 receiver. Read Past Outlooks

Struggles again in Week 5
Mingo caught two of his five targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Mingo tied Ja'Tavion Sanders for the second-most targets on the team and saw increased snaps in the second half while Xavier Legette (shoulder) was sidelined during Sunday's loss. However, it didn't lead to increased production, as the second-year wideout was able to haul in just two of his five targets. If Legette is forced to miss Carolina's Week 6 matchup against the Falcons, Mingo could have a chance to break out and serve as the Panthers' No. 2 wide receiver.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Carolina made Mingo the fifth wide receiver drafted this April, 39th overall, after an impressive showing at the combine moved him up boards. He managed a 4.46 40, 22 bench-press reps, a 129-inch broad jump and 39.5-inch vertical at 6-2, 220. Mingo's college career was less impressive, as he came in as a four-star recruit and got playing time right away but had only 551 receiving yards in his first two seasons. He then broke out at the start of his junior season with a 15-290-3 line his first three games, only to suffer a foot fracture in practice and be held out until the final three games (at which point he did nothing). Mingo came back healthy last year and caught 51 balls for 861 yards and five TDs in 13 games, finishing second in each category to Packers UDFA signing Malik Heath (who ran a 4.64 40). The landing spot in Carolina gives Mingo a shot at a lot of playing time early. None of the WR options are locks for starter snaps, and it helps that the Panthers don't have a dedicated slot specialist, as the rookie mostly played inside at Ole Miss. He also has the size and speed to at least theoretically challenge Adam Thielen, DJ Chark and Terrace Marshall for perimeter snaps in an offense led by coach Frank Reich and QB Bryce Young.

Role clears up
Mingo will shift up the depth chart with Adam Thielen sidelined by a hamstring injury, David Newton of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Mingo is second on the team in snap rate through Week 3, though he has only six receptions on 11 targets. Based on his role to this point, he should be projected to be on the field for all three-receiver sets alongside Diontae Johnson and rookie Xavier Legette. After falling flat in his rookie year, this could be Mingo's best chance to prove that he deserves a role in the Carolina offense in the long term.
