2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lamb's first four NFL seasons were marked by steady improvement, including a surge forward in 2023 when he scored 403.2 PPR points, the third most ever by a wide receiver. His momentum finally slowed last season, with Lamb dropping back to his 2022 rate of scoring (17.6 PPR average), although it took bad luck to push him down to what was still a high level, finishing eighth among WRs in both total PPR points and points per game. He might've finished as high as second or third, if not for the Week 9 game at Atlanta in which QB Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury and Lamb an AC joint sprain. The shoulder injury cost Lamb snaps in a couple other games and eventually led the Cowboys to shut him down for Weeks 17-18, although he first proved capable of putting up solid numbers with a backup quarterback, averaging 6.9 catches for 76.3 yards in the seven games both he and Cooper Rush started. Prescott should be ready for Week 1, but there's tougher competition for targets following a May trade for WR George Pickens. For all his merits, Lamb isn't on the same level as Justin Jefferson or Ja'Marr Chase as a downfield threat, which means he'll need to continue piling up cheap, easy receptions to get back toward his 2023 status as a tip-top WR1. Progressing well
Coach Brian Schottenheimer noted Monday that Lamb, who sustained a concussion during the Cowboys' loss to the Lions this past Thursday, is "doing good. Progressing nicely," Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
With added recovery time ahead of Week 15, Lamb is trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Vikings approaches. The star wideout's progress through the concussion protocol will begin to come into focus when the team's next official injury report is posted Wednesday.

Lamb has improved upon his totals for targets, catches, yards and touchdowns with each passing year since the Cowboys drafted him 17th overall in 2020, peaking last season as the highest-scoring wide receiver for both PPR and standard scoring. He finished at WR5/6 overall in 2022, then took a massive leap forward last season with 25 more targets and 390 more receiving yards while posting career highs for catch rate (74.6 percent) and yards per target (9.7). In addition to leading the NFL in catches and targets, Lamb tied for third among WRs with 14 carries and took them for 113 yards and two touchdowns (14 TDs total). Many of his peripheral stats were similar to previous years (e.g. 9.3 aDOT, 5.1 YAC average) but he was targeted on a career-high 28.3 percent of his routes and caught nearly three-fourths of those passes even though defenses knew what was coming. While neither particularly big (6-2. 200) nor fast (4.50), Lamb is silky-smooth both before and after the catch and seems to have an innate understanding of footwork and angles like DeAndre Hopkins or Isaac Bruce. If there's one possible criticism, it's that Lamb was a bit more volume-reliant than fellow elite WR1 Tyreek Hill, who ran 193 fewer routes but was targeted on an incredible 38.2 percent of them. Even that's just nitpicking, though, as Lamb had the sixth-highest target rate over the seventh most routes (641)., i.e., he can afford to lose some volume in 2024 and still be a high-end WR1.
