Ben Skowronek

27-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Pittsburgh Steelers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Skowronek saw his opportunities and targets dwindle dramatically in 2023, his lowest output of the three years he spent with the Rams. The emergence of Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell, along with the continued presence of Cooper Kupp, relegated Skowronek to a heavy role on special teams. He's a versatile wideout who can be used in a variety of roles on offense along with his special teams experience. The Texans pounced when they heard the Rams were moving on from him. The 2021 seventh-rounder caught the eye of Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans when he was defensive coordinator for the 49ers. Skowronek will compete Noah Brown, Michael Woods, John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson for depth roles. Read Past Outlooks

Skowronek (hip) returned to Saturday's game at Baltimore, Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Skowronek picked up a hip injury in the first half but rejoined the Steelers offense after halftime. He'll look to build upon the two catches (on two targets) for 25 yards that he had accrued before leaving the contest.

2024 Los Angeles Rams Preview: Roster Moves, Depth Chart, Schedule, Storylines and More
139 days ago
As coach Sean McVay and QB Matthew Stafford enter Year 4 together, the Rams have enough firepower to remain a top-tier offense. Ultimately, the defense may dictate how their 2024 campaign unfolds.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
An unlikely candidate to lead the Rams' wide receiver corps in offensive snaps last season, Skowronek netted 680 reps in 14 games before a calf strain ended his campaign. Utilized in a variety of positions by coach Sean McVay, Skowronek wasn't able to translate the high usage in the stat column, putting up a pedestrian 39-376-0 line on 61 targets. Allen Robinson heading to Pittsburgh leaves Skowronek with a brighter outlook for 2023, as he has a chance to enter the upcoming season third on the depth chart behind Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson and have ample opportunity to improve in Year 3.
Skowronek spent his rookie season dinged up between a fractured forearm that cost him the preseason and Week 1, and thigh and back injuries that cost him one additional game and may have limited his effectiveness, with just 11 catches for 133 yards in 2021. He operates as a big-bodied receiver who runs crisp routes and can make contested catches, but he lacks breakaway speed. Skowronek may find himself struggling to improve on his first-year numbers with another big wideout in Allen Robinson joining the team, as well as fellow 2021 draftee Tutu Atwell's return from injury.
A sound possession receiver with the potential to be an end-zone threat, Skowronek will push for a roster spot during training camp. He probably won't receive enough playing time to make a meaningful fantasy impact in 2021 and likely lacks the burst off the line and overall speed to take advantage of semi-regular snaps, if he were to receive them.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Moved to Texans on Thursday
WRHouston Texans
May 9, 2024
Skowronek was traded to the Texans from the Rams on Thursday, setting up a potential battle for a reserve receiver role with past and now current teammate Robert Woods, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Skowronek enjoyed his best professional campaign to date in 2022, when he mustered a 39-37-6 line across a career-high 680 snaps in what was Woods' first season away from the Rams after spending the previous five years in Los Angeles. The two players, teammates during Skowronek's rookie 2021 campaign, could now ultimately battle for Houston's No. 4 or No. 5 receiver job this summer.
