NFL Box Score Breakdown: Week 14 Snaps, Routes & Personnel Usage

Make sure to keep up with NFL breaking news and updates to NFL projections and injury reports throughout the week. If you're looking for target and air-yard shares that only include active games, you can find those updated every Tuesday on RotoWire's advanced receiving stats page. The percentages found below in our advanced box scores include all games, even if the player didn't participate.

Stat Table Key

Weekly stats (first six columns)

  • Snap = % of team snaps that player was on the field for
  • Route = route share (routes run  |  QB dropbacks)
  • RUSHING = rushing line
  • RECEIVE = receiving line
  • Tgt = targets
  • AY = Air Yards

2025 Season Stats (final five columns)

  • Sn'25 = snap share for the season
  • Rt'25 = route share for the season
  • TPRR = Targets per Route Run
  • TS = Percentage of team's targets
  • AYS = Percentage of team's air yards

The final five columns of each stat table below (written in italics) show numbers for the entire season. Bold lettering denotes especially strong marks relative to positional standards. Green lettering for the weekly stats denotes considerable increases in playing time and/or usage relative to past weeks. Red lettering denotes the opposite a decreased role relative to prior games.

  • WR CeeDee Lamb had a shot at a 200-yard game until he suffered a nasty-looking concussion in the third quarter.
    • After Lamb's exit, WR Ryan Flournoy took a team-high 92% of snaps and put up 7-110-1 on nine targets (with the help of a busted assignment that led to a 42-yard TD).
      • Before Lamb's departure, Flournoy had a 42% snap share and  four targets, with two catches for five yards. (Lamb had 6-121-0 on eight targets.)
    • WR KaVontae Turpin took 72% of snaps after Lamb left but saw just one target (a 21-yard catch). Jonathan Mingo got 39% of snaps and one incomplete target. Jalen Tolbert was a healthy scratch, benched in favor of Mingo, who doesn't play special teams.
  • TE Jake Ferguson had a decent receiving line (5-58-0, plus a 2PT conversion) thanks to Dak Prescott attempting 47 passes, but Ferguson's seven targets were just fourth most on the team (and 14.9% of the team total, which is right around where his target share has been since Lamb returned from the ankle injury).
    • Ferguson is a safer bet than Flournoy to get a bunch of targets if Lamb misses time, but it does seem Flournoy would have a full-time role this time around (after splitting the Nos. 2/3 role with Turpin and others when Lamb was out earlier this year).

  • RB Jahmyr Gibbs reached 70% snap share for a fourth straight game and 19+ touches for a fifth straight game. He also scored three TDs for a third time in the past five weeks (though he didn't score at all in the other two games).
    • RB David Montgomery finished with single-digit touches and a snap share below 40% for the fourth straight game. He took his seven touches for 73 yards and a TD, scoring from 35 yards out. Gibbs scored TDs of 1, 10 and 12 yards.
  • WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) and Jameson Williams each played 91% of snaps and caught 6-7 passes for 92-96 yards on nine targets, with WR Isaac TeSlaa (79% snap share) not too far behind in terms of playing time and scoring a TD on one of his three targets.
    • TeSlaa has four TDs on eight targets this season.
  • TE Anthony Firkser played twice as many snaps (56% to 28%) as Ross Dwelley and ran four times as many routes (57% to 14%).
    • Firkser finished with just one catch for seven yards on one target, but similar playing time going forward might yield 3-4 looks per game. It's unclear when TE Brock Wright (neck) will be back, and Sam LaPorta (IR - back) is expected to miss at least the rest of the regular season.
  • S Brian Branch suffered an Achilles tear, and S Thomas Harper left with a concussion (Kerby Joseph was inactive due to a knee injury). It is possible both Harper and Joseph are available by Week 15, with the mini-bye after TNF.

  • RB De'Von Achane suffered a rib injury midway through the second quarter and missed the rest of the game.
    • After Achane's departure, RB Jaylen Wright played 76% of snaps and got 24 of 29 RB opportunities (83%), while Ollie Gordon took only 29% of snaps and five carries.
      • Wright has been behind Gordon for most of the year. In this one, Wright took three carries (including a 2-yard TD) on five snaps before Achane's exit, while Gordon had the same number of snaps (five) but no touches. And then Wright dominated the work once Achane was gone, including through the fourth quarter when there wasn't much doubt about the outcome.
  • TE Greg Dulcich got slightly more playing time at Darren Waller's expense relative to Week 13, but really only in the fourth quarter when Miami had a big lead. Still, Dulcich's involvement the past two weeks is part of why Waller has finished at just 55% and 63% route share (with three targets in both games) since returning from IR.
    • Waller's productive stretch earlier this year was fueled almost exclusively by TDs, and in an offense with far more passing volume than what Miami has provided recently. Waller probably needs negative game script and/or an Achane absence to have a real shot at more than 3-4 targets in a game... TBD if matchups with the Steelers, Bengals and Bucs can provide that in the fantasy playoffs.

  • QB Tyrod Taylor suffered a groin injury in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game, leaving undrafted rookie Brady Cook as the QB. Justin Fields (knee) was inactive but hasn't been ruled out beyond Week 14, setting up a situation where New York's Week 15 starters could be any one of the three guys (as of Monday, with neither Taylor nor Fields ruled out yet).
  • RB Breece Hall and TE Mason Taylor were pulled for the final drive. Before that, Hall played 85% of snaps and took 15 of 16 RB opportunities, handling a near-every-down role for the second straight week.
  • No. 3 receiver Isaiah Williams got a small bump in playing time and had another TD on special teams. He even caught two of three targets for 24 yards.
  • Adonai Mitchell finished with one catch and 78 air yards. His six targets were two fewer than what John Metchie and Mason Taylor got. Mitchell's chance at an encore essentially ended the moment Cook stepped on the field.

  • The split between RBs Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell was much the same as in recent weeks, only in a game with not much play volume (51) where Pittsburgh's passing game made a surprising number of big plays.
    • RB Kaleb Johnson subbed in for a couple of carries in the first half. He did the same the week before.
  • WR DK Metcalf finally got the type of dominant usage fantasy drafters dreamed of this summer, including two catches for 59 yards and two incomplete end-zone targets on the opening drive.
    • Aaron Rodgers honed in on Metcalf all afternoon, and he finished with gains of 52, 41 and 29 yards.
  • TE Darnell Washington suffered a concussion early in the game, which led to a modest playing-time boost for Pat Freiermuth (but not Jonnu Smith, who finished at only 29% route share). Washington's absence seemingly led to more usage of a sixth offensive lineman, and it may have also opened up a few more snaps for the wide receivers.
  • Metcalf handled a team-high 97% route share, while three other WRs were in the range of 29-47%, with Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdes-Scantling both having roles.

  • RB Keaton Mitchell broke off a 55-yard run in the third quarter but injured his knee and missed the rest of the game, finishing with a 6-76-0 rushing line.
    • At the time of Mitchell's injury, Derrick Henry had taken 12 carries and Rasheen Ali had none. After Mitchell left, Henry got 13 carries and Ali took one.
      • In other words, Mitchell might've reached double-digit carries if not for the early exit.
  • WR Zay Flowers led the team in targets and air yards by a mile and accounted for 57% of Baltimore's receiving yards.
  • TE Isaiah Likely arguably scored two TDs... I'm not surprised it was overturned, but the same play in the middle of the field would be called as a fumble rather than incompletion most of the time, right?
    • Likely was still behind Mark Andrews in route/snap share, right in his usual range in the 50s. It's interesting that Likely is finally putting up numbers right around the time of Andrews signing an extension. Likely is in the final year of his rookie contract, and a strong finish to the season could be the difference between signing a big second deal and signing a massive one.

  • RB Devin Neal scored a two-yard TD early in the game and ultimately handled a 71% snap share and 66% route share while getting 20 of the 25 RB opportunities (80%) and putting up 84 yards and a TD.
    • Audric Estime and Evan Hull both subbed in a bit, but not much, and Taysom Hill primarily played as a tight end, taking just two carries (for a loss of one yard).
      • Hill doesn't seem to have enough juice post-surgery to justify a key role. But there's always some risk of that being reintroduced in a more significant way.
  • WR Devaughn Vele was a full-time player again, finishing with 3-40-0 on a team-high-tying five targets. The route/target shares were about best-case scenario, but in a run-heavy game for the New Orleans offense.
  • Just one of Tyler Shough's seven carries was a scramble. The Saints used him on designed runs and he finished with a 7-55-2 rushing line, looking far more capable than what we'd previously seen (51 rushing yards all season before Sunday).
    • Shough has played reasonably well in back-to-back games, at least looking like someone who can be a long-term backup.
  • TE Juwan Johnson dropped below 60% for both snap and route share, after finishing above 70% in every previous game this season. He lost playing time to Hill and Jack Stoll. TBD if that sticks or was just a matchup/game script thing.

  • RB Bucky Irving played just 35% of snaps over the final seven drives, with seven of Tampa's 24 RB opportunities.
    • Irving took 73% of snaps over the first four drives, with 11 of 14 RB opportunities. There were a few plays in the first half where he danced around too much and lost more yardage than necessary, but one of those was on a fourth down, and he also had an early receiving TD. It seems he got banged up early in the second quarter, which is another likely factor.
    • Over the final seven drives, Rachaad White got eight carries and two targets, with Sean Tucker taking seven carries (including a one-yard TD).
    • Irving had a 32-yard run in the fourth quarter, pushing his rushing line to 15-55-0 after struggling to get past the line for much of the day. It was at least a nice reminder of why he's the lead runner in the first place.
  • WR Chris Godwin made gains in snap/route/target share for a second straight week. He's essentially a full-time player again, with the targets to show for it, though in a passing game that's fallen off massively compared to last season (and not just because of WR injuries).
  • More of the same for WR Emeka Egbuka, who led the team in route share (87%), targets (nine) and air yards (132) but finished with 3.5 PPR points. He got wide open in the fourth quarter for what should've been a game-tying, 23-yard TD, but then committed one of the worst drops of the season. He did own up to it after the game.
    • With Mike Evans (IR - collarbone) potentially returning as soon as Thursday night against Atlanta, this may be the last we see of Egbuka with dominant, No. 1-type usage this season.
  •  Sterling Shepard was the No. 3 receiver, nearly doubling Tez Johnson's route share, but the duo combined for just one target anyway. The playing time likely will sink further once Evans is back, and roster spots could come into question if Jalen McMillan (IR - neck) returns soon as well.

  • RB Velus Jones got the final four carries, but Zach Charbonnet took four straight carries before that in pseudo-garbage time, with the Seahawks up by 3-4 scores in the fourth quarter.
    • At the time of Kenneth Walker's final carry, late in the fourth quarter, Walker had taken 65% of snaps and 13 of 18 RB opportunities (72%), while Charbonnet was at 39% snap share with three carries and two targets.
      • It's been the same deal in many recent games, with Walker clearly ahead of Charbonnet for three quarters but then sitting out once the game gets out of hand. The net result is that Walker has a higher ceiling each week but will usually end up with workloads that don't look much different from early in the year (when he and Charbonnet were in something more akin to a true 50-50 split).
  • WR Rashid Shaheed had his first big game for Seattle, highlighted by a kick return TD, but he still finished solidly behind Cooper Kupp in terms of snaps and routes. Shaheed's route shares have lingered around the 55-70% range with Seattle, a bit short of full-time status in an offense where nobody besides JSN is likely to see more than a handful of targets each week.

  • RB Quinshon Judkins took 59% of snaps and 15 of 19 RB opportunities through three quarters, before dropping to 17% snap share and two of nine opportunities in the fourth quarter.
    • In the fourth quarter, RB Dylan Sampson played 61% of snaps and caught each of his five targets for 58 yards. Jerome Ford still had some role, getting two targets on 22% of snaps, but it was the first time we've seen Sampson clearly ahead of Ford as the hurry-up back. Judkins was still the clear lead runner, with not much of a challenge from Sampson.
  • TE David Njoku scored an early TD but then left with his latest knee (re)injury after playing just six snaps.
  • TE Harold Fannin matched his Week 13 season-high for snap share (92%) and put up 8-114-1, finally getting some volume after maintaining strong snap/route/target shares for the past month (in an offense throwing about 25 passes per week, with poor efficiency).
    • It's still a lousy offense, but Fannin has been the featured pass catcher for some time now, and showing that he's got an incredibly bright future in the league. He should be a mid-round pick for fantasy next year even if Cleveland's QB situation looks lousy again.

  • QB Daniel Jones suffered an Achilles' tear in the first half, leaving Riley Leonard under center for the rest of the game.
    • WR Michael Pittman got 10 of the 29 targets from Leonard, catching eight of those for 63 yards. Alec Pierce caught three of five targets for 54 yards. Josh Downs caught three of four for 18 yards. TE Tyler Warren caught one of five targets for two yards.
    • Leonard's stats don't look too awful, but his rushing TD and 41% of his passing yards came on the final drive, deep in garbage time. Before that, the Colts managed just two FGs on six drives with Leonard at the helm.
    • Leonard suffered a knee injury along the way.
  • RB Jonathan Taylor was pulled from the game while other starters stayed in, giving way to Ameer Abdullah for the final drive. The Colts tried to rely on Taylor after Jones' injury, but the Jaguars largely shut JT down after his early TD, including forcing and recovering a fumble.
    • Taylor has carried fantasy teams all season, but it'll be harder to do so with Leonard at QB for the Colts. Is it possible? Definitely. Guaranteed? Absolutely not. We've seen plenty of stretches in Taylor's career where the quality of the team/offense around him limited him to mid/low-RB1 status more so than the elite territory that his talent suggests.

  • RB Bhayshul Tuten fumbled a kickoff return in the first quarter (Jacksonville recovered) and didn't play a snap on offense until late in the second quarter, at which point he gained six yards on his first snap/carry but then lost a fumble on the next play.
    • Tuten didn't play after losing the fumble. Travis Etienne took every RB carry from that point forward, with LeQuint Allen subbing in a bit more than usual (but only for passing plays).
    • A loss of confidence in Tuten (or an injury?) likely would mean Etienne shouldering more of the burden.
  • WR Jakobi Meyers recorded a second straight with as the team leader in targets while reaching 90+ percent snap share.
    • WR Brian Thomas also got solid usage, leading the team in routes (94%) and air yards (145) while tying for second in targets (six) and putting up 3-87-0.
  • WR Tim Patrick was the clear No. 3 receiver and put up 5-78-1 on six targets and 74% route share. He won't see that many targets most weeks, but 3-5 per game is a reasonable expectation if he remains clearly ahead of Dyami Brown and Austin Trammell.
  • TE Brenton Strange had a quiet week in terms of production, but the snap/route/target share all were similar to his previous two games, if not slightly higher.

  • RB Chase Brown scored a pair of TDs but finished with just 35 total yards while again ceding about one-third of the work to Samaje Perine.
    • With playoffs now out of the question entirely, Cincinnati has no incentive to overwork Brown down the stretch. Perine's solid pass blocking is especially attractive when keeping Joe Burrow healthy is one of the main goals for the final month.
  • TE Mike Gesicki put up 6-86-1 but was still below 50% route share. He put up 2-19-0 on four targets and 43% route share the week before.
  • WR Tee Higgins put up 6-92-2 despite a couple of drops. But now we're once again seeing the difficulty of relying on both Higgins and Joe Burrow to be healthy at the same time:

    • RB Ray Davis was a non-factor again, after taking a bunch of carries the week before (and not just in garbage time). In this one, with Buffalo mostly trailing, Davis finished without a touch on 7% snap share.
  • Gabe Davis led Buffalo's WRs in route share for a second straight week. And for a second straight week it yielded just two targets.
    • Keon Coleman drew three targets for a second straight week, but his snap/route shares dipped by around 20 percentage points.

  • TE Zach Ertz suffered an ACL tear in the third quarter.
    • Will 2024 second-round pick Ben Sinnott finally get his shot? He played three of Washington's six snaps in the fourth quarter... no real info to be had there, with Minnesota dominating possession and both teams eventually agreeing to just run the clock out.
  • RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt got all seven of his carries in the second half. He didn't play a single snap in the first half, with Chris Rodriguez taking five carries for 36 yards on 52% snap share while Jeremy McNichols had one catch for two yards on a 48% share.
    • At the end of the third quarter, Rodriguez had taken 50% of Washington's snaps and 10 of 15 RB opportunities (67%).
  • WR Noah Brown led the team with 81% route share in his return from a long IR stint.
    • Terry McLaurin's usage shares were impacted by the blowout more so than Brown's presence, but Deebo Samuel showed some signs of trouble even before that, playing only 64% of snaps before halftime (though he did get four targets in the first half, and six overall).

  • QB J.J. McCarthy finally played a solid game, albeit against a horrific defense, but it didn't do anything for Justin Jefferson's fantasy managers. Jefferson finished with just 11 yards on four targets, while TEs Josh Oliver and T.J. Hockenson combined for three TDs.
    • WR Jordan Addison finished with seven targets and 62 receiving yards. No other Viking had more than four targets or 30 receiving yards.
  • RB Jordan Mason took on more of a role, including 33% of snaps and eight carries in the first half (Aaron Jones got 49% of snaps and nine carries).
    • The snap shares don't add up to 100% because FB C.J. Ham was used as the lone back in 11 personnel a bunch (for pass blocking).
    • Mason got just one of his 11 carries in the fourth quarter. Zavier Scott's three carries and one target all came in Q4, on the other hand.
    • Jones had been as high as 70-75% of snaps in non-blowout situations in recent weeks, though between his injuries and the Vikings getting smacked he'd never actually finish with a snap share that high.
  • Rookie Tai Felton mixed in a bit and caught a pass for 10 yards on his lone target. The Vikings could give him more reps down the stretch... possibly at the expense of Addison/JJ (or just Jalen Nailor).

  • RB RJ Harvey finished with career highs for snap share (68%), route share (61%), total yards (100) and touches (23), taking 23 of Denver's 33 RB opportunities (70%). He scored a TD, finished second on the team in targets (six) and was still taking carries in garbage time.
    • For comparison, Harvey played 61% and 47% of snaps in the two previous games without J.K. Dobbins, handling 64% and 59% of Denver's RB opportunities. The workload shares were slightly higher this past Sunday, with an additional boost from facing the Raiders. Harvey looks like a rock-solid RB2 for the final month.
  • WR Troy Franklin's playing time dropped for a second straight week, though this time it was to accommodate heavy formations and some snaps for Lil'Jordan Humphrey, rather than Pat Bryant continuing to see workload gains.
    • Bryant did at least maintain most of his gains from the previous week, with four targets on 68% route share. His snap share was way down, but that was true for all of Denver's WRs (including Courtland Sutton) due to the heavy formation stuff.

  • QB Geno Smith left in the fourth quarter due to a shoulder injury and was replaced by Kenny Pickett, who then threw a TD pass to Bo Jackson's great-nephew (Shedrick Jackson) on what was the first catch of Jackson's career.
  • The Raiders ran just 48 plays. They're averaging 56.8 per game, which is fourth worst in the league, slightly behind PIT, MIN, and MIA.
  • WR Jack Bech played 81% of snaps and led the team in targets (six) and receiving yards (50) despite not seeing his first official target until the 2:42 mark of the third quarter. He did have an earlier target that didn't count because he drew a DPI call on reigning DPOY Patrick Surtain.
  • RB Ashton Jeanty played 89% of snaps before the fourth quarter. It wasn't until garbage time that Raheem Mostert took a bunch of snaps.

  • The split between RBs D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai didn't change. It was again 50/50 on the ground, with Swift having a clear advantage (but not complete dominance) for passing-down work.
  • WR Olamide Zaccheaus took on nearly all of Rome Odunze's vacated snaps, but WR Luther Burden nonetheless led the team in targets (six) and receiving yards (67) despite remaining in the No. 3 role in terms of playing time.
    • DJ Moore, meanwhile, finished with minus-four yards on three targets. It was a brutal matchup, but that's still an ugly outcome without Odunze in the mix.

  • WR Jayden Reed finished third on the team in route share (65%) and took six touches for 53 yards, with his four targets tying Christian Watson and Luke Musgrave for the team lead.
    • Reed's return from IR banished Dontayvion Wicks to the bench (12% route share) one week after he scored two TDs against Detroit. Rookie first-round pick Matthew Golden also barely played (15% route share) in his return from a shoulder injury.
  • Watson put up 4-89-2 on a team-high-tying four targets while leading the Packers' skill players in snap share (85%) and route share (81%).
    • WR Romeo Doubs was also close to full-time status, but his slump continued, with just two targets and no receptions on 73% route share. Doubs could lose more time to Golden/Wicks down the stretch.

  • The Rams used 13 personnel on 60% of snaps, after dropping to a rate around 15-20% in the first two games without Tyler Higbee (IR - ankle). Davis Allen was the big winner in terms of playing time, but Colby Parkinson once again led Rams TEs in route share (68%), targets (five) and production (3-32-1).
    • WR Puka Nacua took just 21% of the snaps in 13 personnel, but those nine snaps were actually more than he had all season in 13 personnel beforehand. And the nine snaps yielded two catches for 42 yards.
      • Nacua put up 7-162-2 on a 46% snap share, though his route share was 71%, and a blowout obviously impacted the snaps.
  • RB Blake Corum got all of his playing time and touches while Matthew Stafford was still in the game. Corum's 48-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter was the final play for the starters. After that, RB Ronnie Rivers took eight carries in garbage time.
    • Rivers didn't play a single snap on offense before those final two drives, BTW.
    • RB Kyren Williams was well ahead of Corum in terms of snap/route share, but the gap in carries was small even in the first half (8-6) when Williams played 75% of snaps. Corum got just eight snaps (25%) in the first half but took six carries for 48 yards and a TD on those plays.
      • Williams got two of three carries inside the 5-yard line. He and Corum each punched one in from close range, with Corum then adding the long-distance score to go over 100 yards.
      • Williams had a 13-9 advantage in carries at the time of his final touch. Corum then took three carries in a row, followed by Rivers handling garbage time.

  • RBs Bam Knight and Michael Carter continued in their timeshare, with Knight as the lead runner and Carter the one getting more playing time in obvious passing situations (of which the Cardinals have had many of late). Knight got six targets, but Carter had a clear advantage in route share, again.
  • WR Michael Wilson put up 11-142-2 on 16 targets, albeit with a bunch of the production coming in garbage time. He also had a solid day throughout, with a 19-yard TD on the opening drive and then four receptions on a single series in the second quarter.
    • Wilson's three games with Marvin Harrison on the sideline have yielded receiving lines that might be mistaken for Puka Nacua's three best fantasy performances in a season. The numbers? 11-142-2 on 16 targets. 10-118-0 on 15 targets. 15-185-0 on 18 targets.
      • Yes, we have to keep starting Wilson even if Harrison returns soon. Even knowing that Wilson did nothing when Harrison came back for the one week. Production like this, even with numerous caveats, tends to beget continued target volume.
  • With Harrison (heel) and Greg Dortch (IR - chest) both out, the Cardinals mostly avoided 11 personnel. No. 2 receiver Andre Baccellia had three yards and a drop on three targets, while No. 3 Jalen Brooks caught two of three targets for 35 yards, perhaps making his case to be the No. 3 receiver if/when MHJ returns.

  • RB Nick Chubb suffered a rib injury early in the game, leaving Woody Marks in an every-down role.
    • Marks then briefly left the game after taking a hard hit in the fourth quarter, inside the red zone, which led to Dare Ogunbowale scoring a five-yard TD on his lone touch of the game. Marks returned for the next drive, and he closed the game out with an impressive run to pick up a first down. We still haven't seen much explosiveness from Marks, but he does the little things well and is a tougher runner than expected (many profiled him as a passing-down back pre/post-draft).
  • WR remained a timeshare behind Nico Collins, who put up 21 receiving yards on a night when no other Texan had more than 34.
    • Jayden Higgins made a couple of big catches late in the game, which helped me earn a playoff spot, but there was no gain in terms of snap/route/target share. His five targets and 34 yards both were good for second on the team, at least.

  • RB Isiah Pacheco's snap and route shares were similar to the previous week, but he got nine of the 22 RB carries, after taking just three of 17 the week before.
    • Kareem Hunt thus had a minor loss in snap share (67% in Week 13 to 59% in Week 14) and more significant loss in opportunity share (going from 67% in Week 13 to 56% in Week 14). Hunt did have one of KC's few highlights, however, scoring a TD on fourth down with a tough run where he kept his legs churning in a ton of traffic.
