2025 Fantasy Outlook
Smith was selected 110th overall by the Jets in the 2025 NFL Draft after leading Georgia with 841 receiving yards in 2024. His 4.36 speed brings a unique element to a Jets offense with a wide open WR depth chart behind Garrett Wilson, but Smith had an SEC-worst 10 drops in his final college season. Smith could carve out a prominent role right away if he curbs the drops, or he could be stuck behind some combination of Allen Lazard, Josh Reynolds, Malachi Corley, Tyler Johnson and Xavier Gipson. RANKS
Non-factor in Wilson's absence
Smith caught one of three targets for no gain in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Neither Justin Fields nor Tyrod Taylor showed any chemistry with Smith. The rookie fourth-round pick failed to capitalize on increased playing time in the absence of Garrett Wilson (knee). Smith was on the field for 56 of the Jets' 61 snaps on offense.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Breakout opportunity Week 7
Smith could be poised to take on a larger role in the coming weeks, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Garrett Wilson is expected to miss a couple weeks due to a hyperextended knee.
ANALYSIS
Wilson unsurprisingly didn't practice Wednesday, and neither did Josh Reynolds, who is dealing with a hip injury. Even if Reynolds ultimately suits up against the Panthers in Week 7, there should be more opportunities available for Smith, Allen Lazard and Tyler Johnson in Wilson's expected absence. Smith has just four catches through six games, but the rookie fourth-round pick out of Georgia could see his role increase substantially since he's the team's only pass catcher besides Wilson with enough speed to threaten the defense vertically.
