PIT-TEN has been postponed to Week 7. The Chiefs-Pats game has been postponed to Monday night at 7:05 pm ET. For now I'm not moving the likes of Patrick Mahomes or Tyreek Hill down in the rankings, but be aware that there's still a risk that it won't be played this week. The Saints had a false positive test with fullback Michael Burton, and the game will proceed as scheduled.

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Player X vs. Player Y?" without any other mitigating factors. Of course, I welcome debate - if you think I'm wrong, let me know. But please check out

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights, roughly around 10:00 pm PT. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning. I will post at the top of the article in bold font when ranking updates are in progress and when they're complete.

I welcome debate on the rankings in the comments. Please keep it friendly.

Quarterbacks

1.	Patrick Mahomes KC at Note: What a command performance by Mahomes and the Chiefs on Monday night - the play calling was brilliant, as was the execution. This game has been pushed back until at least Monday or Tuesday due to the Cam Newton positive COVID test. I'm leaving his rank in place for now, but be aware that there's a risk that the game won't happen.*

21.	*Kirk Cousins MIN at HOU Note: Played better last week against the Titans than the previous week, and yet his two second-half interceptions were devastating.

34.	Tyrod Taylor LAC at TB Note: (Chest) Not yet ruled out for Week 4 - the Chargers might be forced to start him over Herbert when he's ready to go, to avoid legal ramifications for the accidental puncture of his lung. Did not practice Wednesday. Taylor has officially been ruled out.*
35.	Cam Newton NE at Note: Test positive for COVID-19 and will not play this week.*
36.	Ben Roethlisberger PIT at Note: The NFL intends to still have the Steelers and Titans play, but it could be moved back a day or two - and that's without more positive tests. GAME POSTPONED*
37.	Ryan Tannehill TEN at Note: Topped 300 yards against the Vikings, but didn't find the end zone, and the Titans had to kick six field goals. Obviously, this week's game against the Steelers is touch-and-go given the COVID outbreak on the team. GAME POSTPONED*

If he practices, then I'll move him back up. Took part in Wednesday's walk-through, which qualified him as a 'limited participant.' Coach Pete Carroll is optimistic about Carson (though that's almost a meme with him in the past) playing, but he'll be a game-day decision.*
20.	*Devin Singletary BUF at LV Note: Singletary was great between the 20's, especially early in the game, but eternally frustrating in the red zone. He got a carry from the 1-yard on the first drive, got stuffed, and basically was out of consideration after that, with even T.J. Yeldon getting a carry inside the five-yard line.

22.	Jerick McKinnon SF vs. PHI Note: Diagnosed with a rib contusion following the win over the Giants. The Niners will evaluate Raheem Mostert on Wednesday, which could go a long way towards setting McKinnon's value. Full practice on Wednesday.*
