FantasyDraft NFL: Week 3 Preseason DFS Picks

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NFL series.

Preseason NFL DFS is alive and well, and it is a lot of fun to play. FantasyDraft has just released its NFL preseason product and has announced yet another massive freeroll to go along with it.

This Saturday and Sunday, the $75,000 FantasyCash freeroll will award the top 2500 spots, with $5,000 going to first place. This is a great way to earn some cash to play for the upcoming NFL DFS season. In addition, the top 1000 finishers will earn a ticket ($25 value) to FantasyDraft's Week 1 NFL $250,000 Run & Gun contest.

Playing preseason DFS is a lot easier than it seems, but it is hard to find the right players in terms of volume. You can't roster usual stars like Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson and Dez Bryant, because many of those high-end players only play a drive or two, if at all.

Without further ado, here are some picks for preseason NFL DFS on FantasyDraft:

Quarterback

Matt Blanchard, GB - $10,000 and/or Brett Hundley, GB - $10,000, GB

Two quarterbacks from the same team?!

Yes, that's exactly what preseason DFS is all about. The Packers will be without Scott Tolzien (concussion), and Aaron Rodgers is expected to play one drive at most. This means Blanchard and Hundley will each play about a half of football each.

Hundley is expected to get the second half, so he has a better matchup as Blanchard will see the Eagles' No. 1 unit. But both make for excellent volume plays in preseason DFS.

Ryan Nassib, NYG - $10,200

Nassib has been a force in the preseason, as he continues to see a lot of snaps. Last week, Nassib threw for 217 yards and a touchdown in a whopping 35 attempts.

In Week 3 of the preseason, starters tend to play a bit more. Last season, Eli Manning attempted 21 passes in the third preseason game, but Nassib still played the entire second half and threw three touchdown passes. Do not expect the same volume as last week, but Nassib should see the most snaps under center for the Giants.

Running Back

Raheem Mostert, PHI - $6,000

Mostert has been a star in the preseason for the Eagles. He leads the team with 25 touches and has been able to average close to eight yards per touch so far. With the Eagles expected to rest Demarco Murray, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles, Mostert will be in line for more work in Philly's high-octane offense.

Josh Robinson, IND - $6,000

Robinson leads all NFL players in carries this preseason, and it looks like he is trying to earn a role in the Colts' crowded offense. Robinson is averaging 4.6 yards per carry and should see the bulk of the work in the second half.

The Colts have Frank Gore ahead of Robinson, and Zurlon Tipton has been getting carries as well. Tipton's workload dropped off last week and Robinson was able to capitalize. Expect him to see a lot of chances to succeed, making him a top option at running back.

Wide Receiver

Jeff Janis, GB - $6,000

With Jordy Nelson (knee) missing the 2015 season, Ty Montgomery will move up the depth chart. But so will Janis. The battle between the rookie and the sophomore is a well-documented story, and considering Montgomery is third on the depth chart he might not see as much action with the Packers resting their starters and key reserves.

Enter Janis, an athletic specimen who had a knack for scoring touchdowns in college. Blanchard or Hundley will be looking Janis' way a lot on Saturday, and Janis will need to show he can succeed against NFL competition. This is a great opportunity for the wide receiver, and he will be given every chance to impress.

Sammie Coates, PIT - $6,000

With news that Martavis Bryant will be suspended for the beginning of the season, Coates will need to step up as a big target in Bryant's absence. Expect the Steelers to continue to feed Coates when he is on the field (second in NFL in receiving yards and sixth in receptions this preseason) and give him even more work with Bryant being out of the offense for a month.

Coates has been very impressive in the preseason, getting open a ton but not seeing great quarterback play from Landry Jones. With Ben Roethlisberger likely to play a bit more, Coates' value in DFS rises.

Tight End

Geoff Swaim, DAL - $6,000

Tight end is a toss-up in the preseason, as most winning lineups have a tight end that scores touchdowns. Considering the volume of plays run in preseason NFL DFS, it's tough to find a tight end worth playing.

Swaim has caught six passes in two games, hauling in at least two receptions in both games. The Cowboys have thrown the ball a lot to tight ends in the preseason and Swaim is trying to beat out James Hanna for the third tight end job.

Expect Swaim to continue to see targets in the second half, as he will be given an opportunity to make his name known for the third week in a row.
