2024 Fantasy Outlook
Despite setting a new career-high with 11 goals last season, Dewar once again failed to reach the 20-point threshold for the second straight year. The 25-year-old Manitoba native figures to be firmly cemented in a bottom-six role with the Maple Leafs and is unlikely to push for much in the way of power-play ice time. As such, fantasy managers probably shouldn't be expecting a lot of production out of the natural center. Still, if there are injuries further up the depth chart, Dewar's hard-working nature could earn him a look with some of Toronto's stars, albeit temporarily, assuming he has fully recovered from offseason shoulder surgery. Recalled, activated of LTIR
CToronto Maple Leafs
November 8, 2024
Dewar (shoulder) was recalled from his conditioning stint with AHL Toronto and activated off long-term injured reserve Friday.
ANALYSIS
Dewar's promotion and activation comes after Auston Matthews (upper body) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Even with his return to the NHL roster, the 25-year-old Dewar is far from a lock to suit up against the Red Wings on Friday and may have to watch from the press box as a healthy scratch. Still, Dewar notched a goal and an assist during his conditioning assignment and could offer decent offensive upside in a bottom-six role if he can edge out Ryan Reaves, Steven Lorentz or David Kampf for a spot in the lineup.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Dewar averaged 10:58 of ice time while suiting up in 81 games for Minnesota last year. In that bottom-six position, he tallied six goals and 18 points while racking up 124 hits. He also blocked 50 shots and logged 50 PIM. The 24-year-old will once again be relied on more for his physical abilities than his offensive upside in a bottom-six spot in 2023-24. Dewar isn't expected to see any time with the man advantage this year, further limiting his offensive potential. He can likely be left on the board on draft day.

Dewar underwent shoulder surgery this offseason but is expected to be healthy for training camp. Dewar is expected to compete for a bottom-six role in camp this year.
