After a three-game Thanksgiving slate, the NFL keep rolling with a matchup Friday between the Eagles and Bears in Philadelphia. This NFC showdown also brings another single-game DFS slate. Let's dig into each position for the single-game contests on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Quarterback
The Eagles couldn't put away the Cowboys last week, but Jalen Hurts ($11,600 DK, $13,000 FD) emerged from the game with a juicy stat line, throwing for 289 yards and one touchdown while adding 33 rushing yards and two rushing scores. While he hasn't produced multiple touchdown passes in a game since Week 8, he does have three rushing scores over his last two games. His rushing prowess could prove troublesome for a Bears defense that has allowed 6.74 yards per carry to quarterbacks, which is the highest mark in the league.
Caleb Williams ($10,800 DK, $12,600 FD) hasn't reached 300 passing yards in a game this season, and he has just four games with multiple touchdown passes. A big reason for his lack of production is that he has completed only 59.2 percent of his pass attempts. That could remain an issue against the Eagles, who have allowed the lowest completion rate (57.3 percent) in the NFL.
Running Back
It has been a disappointing season for Saquon Barkley ($10,600 DK, $12,200 FD), who was held to 22 yards on 10 carries last week. He helped make up for his lack of production on the ground by catching seven of eight targets for 52 yards. His ability to catch passes out of the backfield helps him establish a high floor, but what could really help him take off in this matchup is that the Bears have given up the fourth-most yards per carry to running backs (5.04) in the league.
Barkley handles the vast majority of the carries for the Eagles, but the Bears spread their backfield snaps between D'Andre Swift ($6,600 DK, $8,600 FD) and Kyle Monangai ($5,600 DK, $8,200 FD). Last week, Monangai received more carries (12) than Swift (eight), but the week prior, Swift had 21 carries, compared to 12 for Monangai. Both players are viable lineup options, but Swift still likely has the higher floor. Even with the two splitting carries, Swift has at least 80 rushing yards in two of the last three games.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
DeVonta Smith ($8,600 DK, $10,200 FD) dealt with a couple of nagging injuries and an illness this week, but he has been cleared to play. The Bears have allowed the fourth-most yards per target to wide receivers, so this is a juicy matchup. Last week, A.J. Brown ($9,600 DK, $11,600 FD) finally broke out with eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown, and with 21 targets over the last two games, it might be time to feel good about rostering him again.
After scoring a touchdown in each of the first four games of the season, Rome Odunze ($9,000 DK, $9,400 FD) has just one score over his last seven games. He also topped 55 receiving yards just twice during that span. Meanwhile, the Eagles have allowed only six touchdowns to wide receivers, so Odunze might need to rack up yards if he's going to justify his salary. DJ Moore ($8,000 DK, $7,600 FD) is a more volatile option, considering he has posted 20 or fewer receiving yards in two of his last five games. Maybe the wide receiver on the Bears to take a chance on is Luther Burden III ($3,800 DK, $4,200 FD), who has been targeted 13 times over the last three games. He finished with at least three receptions and 46 yards in two and comes with a much cheaper salary on both sites.
The Eagles have been stingy against tight ends, allowing the fifth-fewest receptions in the league to the position. Still, Colston Loveland ($4,400 DK, $5,800 FD) has emerged as an important part of the Bears offense, catching 17-of-20 targets for 262 yards and three touchdowns over the last four games. Don't expect much from Cole Kmet ($2,400 DK, $3,800 FD), who was targeted just 10 times during that same four-game span.
While the Eagles have done a good job of slowing down tight ends, the Bears have given up the fifth-most receptions in the league to the position. Dallas Goedert ($5,200 DK, $7,000 FD) only has eight receptions over his last three games, but he could still be a great option for this matchup.
Kicker
Jake Elliott ($5,000 DK, $6,600 FD) has only attempted 14 field goals this season and has missed three. Since the beginning of last season, he is 4-for-12 on attempts of at least 50 yards. Cairo Santos ($4,800 DK, $6,200 FD) has made 17 of his 21 field goal attempts and has converted 11 of his 14 tries from at least 50 yards since the start of last year.
Defense/Special Teams
The Eagles ($4,000 DK, $6,800 FD) have limited opponents to 20.5 points per game, mainly because they have only allowed 11 passing touchdowns all season. Meanwhile, the Bears ($3,600 DK, $6,400 FD) have given up 26.5 points per game despite generating the most interceptions (16) in the league. Plaguing them has been their inability to limit big plays; they have allowed the third-most completions of at least 20 yards and are tied for the fifth-most carries of at least 20 yards allowed.
