CFB DFS: DraftKings College Football DFS Week 10 Main Slate
I'm stepping in for John McKechnie this week to provide our best selections for Week 10's Saturday main slate on DraftKings. We have 12 games to choose from, and things kick off promptly at 12:00 p.m. ET with a spooky selection of matchups for the Halloween weekend.
Slate Overview

My picks for Saturday don't quite fall in line with the projected totals, although I did give UCF some attention in the game with the highest projected total. I was focused on Ohio State, Clemson, Notre Dame and Indiana, and I also gave a slight nod to Florida in what I believe will be an upset opportunity in Jacksonville. The position with the most opportunity is at running back this week, and I opted for blue-chips like Jeremiyah Love over a host of other worthy backs on the slate. If you choose to deviate from my selections, do it at running back. You'll find perfectly suitable options beyond what I've provided.

Quarterback
Julian Sayin,
Ohio State ($8,900) vs. Penn State
Although I was tempted to endorse Sawyer Robertson at the top of this pool, Sayin's matchup against the Nittany Lions at the Horseshoe is much better than the UCF defense Baylor will encounter. Sayin has erased all doubts about his passing acumen, and he drives one of the nation's most powerful offenses. I think the Buckeyes will show no mercy for Penn State's dreary state of affairs, and although this should be a sound beatdown, Sayin should put in at least three quarters of work.
Cade Klubnik,
Clemson ($7,500) vs. Duke
Klubnik has been upgraded to probable for this game, and we need a signal-caller in this salary range to keep costs down. Klubnik will find himself in a pretty good spot to make his return, as the Blue Devils rank 211th against opposing quarterbacks, and he'll enjoy a home-field advantage within the confines of Death Valley. Duke had Clemson's number last season, and I fully expect this game to be decided in the final quarter. Barring a re-aggravation of his ankle, Klubnik will need to deliver a full four quarters to get past Duke - we just need his ankle to hold up.
Also consider: Miller Moss,
Louisville ($8,600) @ Virginia Tech
Running Back
Jeremiyah Love,
Notre Dame ($9,000) @ Boston College
I've told readers that Love is always worth the high salary, and he continues to deliver week after week. Boston College's run defense is about as bad as you can get (170th), and that's one reason why I will also mention Jadarian Price ($6,600) as a sensible alternative. Price will take on a larger role if the game gets out of hand, and while I think his total will be less than Love's, the salary difference could more than pay off if the production gap is narrower. I have no problem with either player, but consider Price more heavily if you are in a salary crunch.
J'Mari Taylor,
Virginia ($7,500) @ Cal
The Cavaliers should be on upset alert as they travel cross-country to meet the Bears, but they have one feather in their fedora. Cal has struggled mightily against elite running backs this season, and Taylor fits that bill. The best way for Virginia to take care of business is to establish the run game early, a lesson Tony Eliott learned from his former boss. Good early results from Taykor will also open up the passing game for Chandler Morris, who has the talent to move the ball downfield if Taykor gets caught behind the chains. There should be plenty of possessions in this game, thus maximizing Taylor's chances to produce.
Myles Montgomery,
UCF ($5,800) @ Baylor
Baylor has been unable to contain opposing offenses all season, and UCF should be no exception. The Bears are especially forgiving to opposing running backs, which is why I'll gladly take Montgomery at a bargain-level price. Montgomery's numbers have jumped around a bit, but he couldn't find a better spot against Baylor, who seems to always find ways to let teams back into games. There are better guarantees at running back on this slate, but we get some much-needed salary relief to allow for elite production at receiver if we take a chance here.
Also consider: Isaac Brown,
Louisville ($7,400) @ Virginia Tech
Wide Receiver
Jeremiah Smith,
Ohio State ($8,300) vs. Penn State
Go big or go home. Let's go ahead and take the slate's best receiver for good measure if we can afford him. If he's a bit too costly for you, I think Carnell Tate ($5,600) is also a good stack with Sayin, especially if the Nittany Lions opt to double-team his teammate. If we're taking Sayin, you need to stack with one of these guys.
Elijah Sarratt,
Indiana ($7,100) @ Maryland
This is really a crapshoot between Sarratt and Omar Cooper, but Sarrarr has been more impactful in tough matchups. While I wouldn't characterize the Terps as 'tough', they've shown some improvement in recent weeks. Their pass defense is below average, and although Fernando Mendoza fell just outside my recommendations at quarterback, I think the potential Heisman winner will have a great opportunity to add to his resume here. Sarrat will be a primary beneficiary.
Antonio Williams,
Clemson ($5,300) vs. Duke
Say what you will about Clemson's woes this season - Williams is an NFL-caliber wideout in waiting, and now that he and his quarterback or fully healthy, fireworks can commence against the Blue Devils. Williams is a nightmare for any cornerback, and I'm quite surprised to see him at this price point. Duke's defense is better against the run, so look for Klubnik to drop back and look for Williams often.
Also consider: Dallas Wilson,
Florida ($4,400) vs. Georgia
