DraftKings CFL: Grey Cup Showdown Cheat Sheet

DraftKings CFL: Grey Cup Showdown Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings CFL DFS Picks series.

We've reached the final game of the 2021 CFL season, with the Tiger-Cats and Blue Bombers set to fight it out for the Grey Cup for the second consecutive season. Winnipeg defeated Hamilton the last time the championship was up for grabs in November 2019, notching a 33-12 victory.

The Ti-Cats will therefore be out for revenge after an 8-6 regular season and postseason wins over the Alouettes and Argonauts.

In turn, the Bombers forged the league's best regular-season record in the form of an 11-3 mark before edging the Roughriders, 21-17, in Sunday's West Division Final.

With the available DFS contests for this week being rolled out in Showdown format, there are no positional requirements to worry about, as each slot carries a Utility designation.

With that said, let's dive in one final time this season and see what some of the top options for your cash games and GPPs are!

DraftKings CFL Plays- Grey Cup Showdown

Zach Collaros, WPG ($11,500): Collaros is certainly a surer proposition than either Jeremiah Masoli or Dane Evans if you're going to use one of your Utility spots on a quarterback. The veteran was a steady fantasy force all season long, averaging 15.9 DK points per contest. Collaros posted a solid 8:4 TD:INT on the road, along with a 70.2 percent completion rate. He also posted a solid 19.0 DK points against the Ti-Cats back in Week 1, a game during which he compiled 240 total yards and threw for a pair of scores. Hamilton was fairly effective against the pass this season but still allowed 249.2 passing yards per contest and the third-most completions (310) overall.

Andrew Harris, WPG ($11,100): Harris has a tough challenge ahead of him on paper against a Tiger-Cats defense that was the CFL's stingiest against the run all season, but his outsized role still puts him firmly in play. His status is worth monitoring, as he was a limited practice participant Wednesday with his troublesome knee before sitting out Thursday's session, but all indications are the Bombers are just being cautious with their star after he logged a 23-carry workload with great success (136 yards, 24.5 DK points) in the West Division Final win over the Roughriders on Sunday after a multi-week absence. Harris generated double-digit DK-point tallies in all but one of his eight games this season/postseason on his way to an average of 16.9 DK points per contest, and given his pass-catching prowess, he should be in position to also benefit from Hamilton's propensity for giving up plenty of completions.

Jaelon Acklin, HAM ($9,700): Acklin is coming off a stellar showing in the East Division Final win over Toronto, where he posted a season-high 28.2 DK points. The second-year CFL wideout also posted double-digit DK-point tallies in each of his last two regular-season contests, and he accomplished the feat on another five occasions overall in 2021. With upside north of 20 DK points and at least six targets in seven of his last nine games overall, Acklin seemingly has a safe floor with an impressive ceiling in this do-or-die battle.

Don Jackson, HAM ($9,000): Jackson is somewhat like Andrew Harris Lite, as he has a steady dual role in Hamilton's attack that typically locks him into an ample amount of touches and that gives him an excellent chance of offering a strong return on his robust salary. Jackson has only seen action in six games overall including Hamilton's two playoff games, but he's scored no fewer than 12.9 and as many as 21.0 in five of them. Jackson has multiple targets in each of his last four games as well, and although Winnipeg only conceded 86.6 rushing yards per game during the regular season, they did do so at a healthy 5.0 yards per carry.

Rasheed Bailey, WPG ($7,300): Bailey displayed a relatively reliable nose for the end zone this season, posting five touchdown grabs and adding a sixth in the West Division Final win over the Roughriders on Sunday. The sure-handed wideout flashed a ceiling of over 20 DK points this season, and he posted double-digit fantasy points on nine occasions overall including Sunday's victory against Saskatchewan. The Ti-Cats gave up plenty of completions and a relatively robust amount of passing yards per game as noted in Collaros' entry, and Bailey enjoyed a reliable role in the passing game with at least five targets in nine contests.

Blue Bombers Defense ($6,400): Winnipeg's defense makes for an interesting option that could offer as strong or stronger return than several skill-position players on either side that require a much heftier investment. Winnipeg's unit racked up 16 DK points against the Ti-Cats back in Week 1 and averaged an impressive 11.9 per road game during the regular season. The Bombers also collected the third-most sacks (39), forced a CFL-high 38 turnovers, scored the most points off turnovers (101) and allowed a CFL-low 13.4 points and 281.3 yards of net offense per contest. In turn, the Tiger-Cats allowed the second-most sacks (40), and their overall instability at quarterback could help lead to a fruitful day for Winnipeg's aggressive unit.

ALSO CONSIDER: Bralon Addison, HAM ($8,900)
