Conference games abound on today's slate, as several teams jockey for position in their conference tournaments. As you'll see, a few teams have plenty of motivation to prevail tonight.
Indiana (-4) vs. Minnesota O/U: 134.5
Butler (-9) vs. St. John's O/U: 138.5
Florida (-2.5) @ Georgia O/U: 143.5
Arkansas (-2.5) vs. LSU O/U: 153
Virginia Tech (-1.5) vs. Clemson O/U: 128 (DraftKings only)
Creighton (-12) vs. Georgetown O/U: 152.5
Kansas (-16.5) vs. TCU O/U: 129.5
Seton Hall (-4) @ VIllanova O/U: 140.5
Dayton (-3.5) @ Rhode Island O/U: 145.5
Virginia (-2) @ Miami (FL) O/U: 119.5
Florida State (-2.5) @ Notre Dame O/U: 147
ELITE PLAYERS
No introduction is needed for excellent targets like Anthony Edwards (DK $8,300, FD $7,500) and Obi Toppin (DK $8,600, FD $8,200) tonight, as both can carry your cash lineups and are chalk whenever they're on the slate. My goal is to locate lower-owned targets, but I can't fade this duo.
Daniel Oturu, Minnesota (DK $9,200, FD $8,800) @ Indiana
Oturu is still hanging out in Pomeroy's Top 10 in their Player of the Year race (No. 9). He's coming off a dynamic 45 FP performance against Wisconsin, and his last five games have been largely regression-free, save a lukewarm shooting night against Iowa. A 39 FP showing against Indiana in his last matchup is good enough for me to give Oturu wide exposure in both cash and tournament lineups.
Skylar Mays, LSU (DK $8,000, FD $7,400) @ Arkansas
While Mays has been a little less consistent than I'd like, it's hard to fade any of LSU's marquee players in a high-paced game that favors both the Tigers and the Razorbacks. I'm also encouraged by another superb performance in his last game, one which resulted in 24 points and eight rebounds against Texas A&M.
Cyril Langevine, Rhode Island (DK $7,800, FD $6,800) vs. Dayton
The Rams haven't made many appearances in my DFS columns this season, but they've got an interesting home game against Dayton as they try to make a play for the second seed in the Atlantic 10. The Flyers are a slim favorite, and the 145.5 line is appealing. Langevine recently missed a game due to injury but returned with an excellent 12/11 double-double against Saint Louis. The senior center's price on FanDuel is especially attractive.
Keyontae Johnson, Florida (DK $7,500, FD $6,700) @ Georgia
Although Johnson took a bit of a dip against Tennessee, he's popped with some huge totals in recent weeks. The o/u and spread against the Bulldogs play right into Johnson's favor, and it'll be a great environment for him to improve upon the 26 FP performance he tallied in his last game against Georgia.
Jahvon Blair, Georgetown (DK $6,100, FD $6,000) @ Creighton
Blair continues to excel in Mac McClung's absence, and it doesn't appear that the incumbent guard is close to returning. That's good news for Blair, and even though we've seen his salary rise, it's still favorable in relation to his production. He'll need to ramp things up against Creighton as they are significant underdogs, but I feel like Vegas may be giving the Bluejays too much credit with the point spread.
Also consider: Trendon Watford, LSU (DK $7,000, FD $5,900) @ Arkansas)
VALUE PLAYS
Jagan Mosely. Georgetown (DK $6,200, FD $5,900) @ Creighton
Mosely has warmed up recently for the Hoyas, with three straight double-digit scoring performances. He's usually dependable in the ancillary categories, but this scoring increase is really helping his overall FP totals of late. This game has one of the best O/U totals on the slate, and Mosely spends an average of 35 minutes on the court. The senior forward should have every opportunity to keep the scoring streak going.
Damien Jefferson, Creighton (DK $5,900, FD $5,800) vs. Georgetown
Again, the O/U line leads me to load up a bit on this contest. Although he laid a goose-egg two games ago against Butler, he's enjoying a seven-game run where he's averaging 12.9 points and 6.0 rebounds. He only put up 15 FP in his last game against Georgetown, but he's logged almost 30 minutes on the court in recent games - that's seven minutes more than that last game against the Hoyas.
Adrio Bailey, Arkansas (DK $4,800, FD $4,800) vs. LSU
Mason Jones (DK $8,700, FD $8,100) is an excellent target, but we can find value with the Razorbacks thanks to Bailey. Although he carries a bit of variance with some wide-ranging stat lines, he put up 28 FP against the Tigers in their last matchup and logged almost 30 minutes. The Tigers have given up a lot of points to SEC rivals this season, and this game will be focused on offensive production, not defense. Don't forget about the return of Isaiah Joe ($6,800 DK, $5,000 FD) as well, who has been stellar since returning and comes at a major bargain on FanDuel.
Justin Smith, Indiana (DK $5,000, FD $4,400) vs. Minnesota; Robert Phinisee, Indiana (DK $4,700, FD $4,300) vs. Minnesota
I've bunched both Smith and Phinsee together against the Gophers. It's put up or shut up time for the Hoosiers, and they need to improve their standing in the Big Ten if they want any kind of postseason bid. A win here could also keep them at a better seed in the Big Ten tournament. Indiana's starters have struggled of late, and both Smith and Phinisee have distinguished themselves with superlative performances over the past few games.
DraftKings only
Virginia Tech vs. Clemson, o/u 128, 7 p.m. EST
It's a low over/under once again for the Tigers, who will slow down Virginia Tech with one of the slowest tempos in the country. Clemson has definitely puzzled the oddsmakers this year, as it has upset ranked teams and struggled in games it should have won. In recent weeks, it's been Al-Amir Dawes ($5,200) who's saved the Tigers from the brink, and despite the line I think he's still a good value. Tyrece Radford ($6,400) is going to provide the safest floor for the Hokies.
GAME TO TARGET
Seton Hall (-4) @ Villanova, o/u 140.5, 8:30 p.m. EST
This game should decide the Big East regular-season title. I purposefully left targets from this game off my list so I could focus on the number of excellent options in their own paragraph. Myles Powell (DK $8,400, FD $7,300) is arguably one of the best elites on the slate, and I'm also very high on Sandro Mamukelashvili (DK $6,500, FD $6,300) for the Pirates. Saddiq Bey (DK $7,600, FD $6,500) and Collin Gillespie (DK $7,300, FD $6,100) remain solid elites for Villanova, and Justin Moore (DK $5,600, FD $4,900) is the Wildcats' best value.
Game to Fade
Virginia (-2) @ Miami (FL), o/u 119.5, 9 p.m. EST
The Cavaliers are once again a fade for me, as they've failed to show me any evidence of a pace increase. Although they've scored 78 and 73 points against Boston College and Lousiville in recent games, their totals have predominantly landed in the mid 50s, which doesn't leave enough production to go around. While Miami's tempo could rev things up a bit in this contest, I'm fine with avoiding the game altogether.
