2025 Fantasy Outlook
Miller found a new level to his game when he joined Vancouver in 2019-20, and after signing a seven-year, $56 million contract with the Canucks that began in 2023-24, it looked like he would spend the remainder of his career there. However, circumstances changed, and he waived his no-movement clause to be dealt to the Rangers in January. He was already familiar with the franchise -- Miller was originally drafted by New York back in 2011 and spent his first five-plus NHL seasons with the Rangers, so he settled in nicely. Miller had 13 goals and 35 points across 32 appearances with the Rangers in 2024-25 after accumulating nine goals and 35 points in 40 outings with Vancouver before the trade. The 32-year-old has now reached the 70-point total in each of the last five full seasons. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him hit the 80-point milestone this season. Read Past Outlooks
Making progress
Miller (upper body) has been cleared for full contact, but he isn't ready to return for Monday's game versus the Mammoth according to Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Miller remains on injured reserve and will miss his seventh straight game Monday, but it doesn't sound like a return to the lineup is far away. Once he receives the green light to play, he should land a top-six role and see time on the first power-play unit. Miller has accounted for 10 goals, 22 points, 77 shots on net and 74 hits across 35 appearances this season.

Miller is a reliable all-around contributor. His offense naturally stands out the most, especially after setting career highs with 37 goals and 103 points across 81 outings in 2023-24. That's the third straight campaign where he's surpassed the 30-goal and 80-point marks, so the 31-year-old seems like a safe bet to at least reach those milestones again in 2024-25 so long as he stays healthy. However, Miller's physicality is also worthy of mention. He finished last season with 58 PIM and 217 hits, making him the only player to finish with at least 75 points and 200 hits and one of just two players to record a minimum of 50 points and 200 hits (the other being Brady Tkachuk). Miller is a good late first-round pick and an excellent early second-round grab in 12-team fantasy leagues, especially in formats that count or heavily reward hits.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could miss some time
Miller's absence due to an upper-body injury could linger long enough to put his spot on the Olympic team in jeopardy, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Miller was hurt in the third period of the Rangers' 5-4 shootout win over the Flyers on Saturday, and the initial reports don't indicate good news for the forward. The 32-year-old has 10 goals and 12 assists in 35 games on the season. Miller was a member of Team USA's 4 Nations Face-Off roster last year, but his upcoming absence due to injury could affect his chances of making the roster for the Olympics in February.
