Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Robert took the first step toward shedding the injury-prone label with 145 games played in 2023, but he was limited to 100 contests last season due to a hip flexor strain. He also wasn't nearly as effective while playing through the injury with 14 homers, a .224/.278/.379 slash line and 33.3 percent strikeout rate, though he did record a career-high 23 stolen bases. The down season is likely enough to keep him with the White Sox through the offseason, since the organization won't want to sell low on its best position player. Robert is a strong candidate to rebound in 2025, but there's plenty of risk given the injury history and poor Chicago lineup that surrounds him. A trade at the summer deadline would boost his fantasy value and potential for counting stats, but there's no guarantee he's healthy enough to take advantage of a new situation. Read Past Outlooks

Blasts first spring homer
Robert went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's Cactus League game.
ANALYSIS
Robert's name has been in trade rumors throughout the winter and that isn't likely to change unless he's dealt before Opening Day. He's put that chatter behind him, however, as he's collected four hits across his first 11 at-bats. Robert also managed his first homer of the spring Saturday, when he took Logan Evans deep.

Recent RotoWire Articles Featuring Luis Robert See More

The latest update to the RotoWire Roundtable Rankings sees Jackson Chourio move into the back of the first round.

The RotoWire staff shares the hitters they think are most likely to bust this season, with multiple members landing on White Sox outfielder Luis Robert.

With Shohei Ohtani set for more days off and fewer steals this season, Bobby Witt Jr. has moved into the top spot in our Roundtable Rankings.

Rankings from four RotoWire experts are combined into a consensus top-300, but there's no consensus about who should occupy the top spot.

Robert missed nearly half of the White Sox's games across the 2021-22 seasons due to injuries and finished the 2023 campaign on the injured list with a sprained MCL, but prior to that injury he played in 145 games, easily crushing his previous career high of 98. The outfielder was insanely productive with 38 homers, 20 steals and a .264/.315/.542 slash line, which was supported by a 15.2 percent barrel rate that ranked 11th in MLB. The campaign was a resounding success from both a durability and production standpoint -- especially considering Chicago's otherwise anemic offense -- but a 10-point increase in his strikeout rate (to 29.2 percent) is worth keeping an eye on. Robert still carries some minor durability questions since a single healthy season isn't enough to fully shed those concerns, but he'll jump up draft boards after he showcased his full potential as a hitter during a healthy 2023 campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Trade to Cincy falls through
The Reds and White Sox discussed a trade in recent days which would have sent Robert to Cincinnati, but the two parties were unable to come to an agreement, Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic report.
ANALYSIS
The report says Reds infield prospect Edwin Arroyo was one of the players discussed as part of a potential return for Robert, but ultimately the two sides were unable to match up on players or how much the White Sox would pick up of Robert's contract. Cincinnati then pivoted to sign Austin Hays, and it doesn't appear it will re-engage in talks for Robert. The Giants are another team that had trade talks with the White Sox regarding Robert earlier this offseason, but at this point Chicago is likely to hang on to the outfielder, at least until the trade deadline.
