Grizzlies Defeat Trail Blazers, 112-100
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the host Portland Trail Blazers, 112-100, at Moda Center on Sunday.

There were six ties and 12 lead changes in this game, with neither team leading by more than 12 points. That was the final margin for Memphis, finishing the game on a 26-2 run. They actually trailed 98-86 with just seven minutes remaining but held the Blazers scoreless over the final 5:11. The Grizzlies shot 51 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range while holding the Trail Blazers to 39 percent from the field and 31 percent from long range. Memphis outscored Portland in the paint, 52-34.

The Grizzlies (1-6) were led by Desmond Bane, collecting 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jaren Jackson Jr generated 27 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Marcus Smart amassed 10 points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Bismack Biyombo had eight points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in his debut. Luke Kennard led the bench with 15 points, five rebounds and two assists.

The Trail Blazers (3-4) were led by Jerami Grant, finishing with 27 points, three rebounds and three assists. Malcolm Brogdon tallied 18 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists. Shaedon Sharpe accrued 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Deandre Ayton totaled six points, 11 rebounds and two steals.

On deck for Portland is a road matchup with the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. As for Memphis, they return home to play the Miami Heat on Wednesday as well.
