Best NBA Bets Today (Wednesday, Dec. 31)
Myles Turner over 1.5 made threes (-165) vs. Washington Wizards
BetMGM, 11:38 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Over the past 10 games, Washington is allowing the third-most above-the-break three-point attempts (31.3). That's where Turner does most of his damage. Over the past 10 games, he's leading Milwaukee in above-the-break attempts (5.3), making 1.8 per game at 34.1%.
Toronto Raptors -6.5 (-110) vs. Denver Nuggets
DraftKings, 10:56 AM CT
Nick Whalen: Sure, this may be a trap spot post-Nikola Jokic injury, but the Nuggets are now down four starters and will have trouble generating offense without the best player in the NBA, who's yet to miss a game this season. It's also a third straight road game for Denver in the midst of a six-game roadtrip, so we'll back the Raptors, who are at home for their third straight game. I also lean U111.5 on the Nuggets' team total.
Derik Queen over 21.5 points + rebounds (-126) at Chicago Bulls
DraftKings, 10:56 AM CT
Nick Whalen: Queen's fluctuations in workload from night to night can be frustrating, but there's no question that he's among the most-productive per-minute bigs in the NBA. Chicago is a team to target on the defensive end, as it ranks bottom-10 in the NBA in points, rebounds and assists allowed to the center position while ranking 26th in DRTG over the last 10 games.
Anthony Black over 4.5 rebounds (-120) at Indiana Pacers
BetMGM, 10:56 AM CT
Nick Whalen: Black is a well-above-average rebounder for his position and goes up against the worst rebounding team in the NBA tonight in the Pacers. He's averaging 5.0 boards per game over his last 10 while seeing nearly 35 minutes per game in that span. Beyond that, the Magic are still down Franz Wagner, while both Desmond Bane and Jalen Suggs are listed questionable. If at least one of those two regulars are out, this should be an advantageous number — it's priced in the -140 range at other books, as of Wednesday morning — for Black.
Tim Hardaway over 15.5 points (-120) at Toronto Raptors
BetMGM, 12:15pm ET
Ken Crites: As everyone knows, Nikola Jokic is out with a knee injury. Hardaway had already moved to the starting lineup a few games ago due to injuries to Cameron Johnson and Christian Braun. In five starts this season, the shot-hungry Hardaway delivered 17.2 points per contest. The Joker's absence frees up 17.5 shots per game, though his passing will certainly be missed. Hardaway can create his own shot, which will be really necessary with this injury-ravaged Nuggets lineup. I expect an inefficient night from Hardaway, but certainly some of his jacked threes should drop, right? The K-Train is 10-3 on the season and 60-46 overall, so feel free to fade!
