Nuggets Too Much For Trail Blazers
The Denver Nuggets defeated the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, 120-107, at Ball Arena on Friday evening.

The Nuggets got out to a strong start and led by five after one quarter. The Trail Blazers turned it up in the second and outscored the hosts 37-26 to take a six-point lead into the break. The Nuggets came out much stronger in the third and reclaimed control, as they outscored the visitors 35-16 to make it a 13-point game heading into the final quarter. Both sides put up a steady effort in the fourth, but the Nuggets stayed in control and held on for their third straight win. This marks the third consecutive loss for the Trail Blazers.

Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 29 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists and two steals, in 36 minutes. Jamal Murray followed up with 25 points, eight rebounds, 12 assists and two steals, while Michael Porter added 18 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal. The Nuggets shot 58 percent from the field, including 10-of-21 from deep.

Meanwhile, Damian Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 34 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, in 39 minutes. Jerami Grant followed up with 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal, while Josh Hart and Anfernee Simons chipped in 14 points each. The Trail Blazers shot 45 percent from the field, including 9-of-35 from long range.

The Trail Blazers (17-16) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Hornets on Monday. The Nuggets (20-11) play host to the Suns on Sunday.
