Best NBA Bets for Saturday, November 8,
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks: Lakers to cover -3.5 spread, -108 @ FanDuel
The Lakers enter Saturday's slate with the second-best record in the Western Conference at 7-2 and enter this game on a five-game winning streak following their 118-116 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. The play of Luka Doncic (40.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 9.2 assists per game) has been absolutely stellar, and the Lakers will need him to be at his best once again since both LeBron James (nerve) and Austin Reaves (groin) will be sidelined Saturday against the Hawks. However, Atlanta is also dealing with a huge absence in Trae Young (knee), and it seems the Hawks haven't been able to gel despite making some quality acquisitions in the summer. The Lakers have covered the -3.5 spread in three of their last four wins, and they shouldn't have significant problems doing it again since they'll face an Atlanta team that's missing its best player. Atlanta has also failed to cover the +3.5 spread in each of their five defeats in 2025-26.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs: Victor Wembanyama to record under 39.5 points + rebounds + assists, -120 @ BetMGM
Wembanyama has been nearly unstoppable this season, but the eye-popping, otherworldly numbers he'd posted in the early games of the season have been trending toward a more realistic pattern of late. The star big man is coming off a 22-point, eight-rebound, four-assist performance in the win over the Rockets on Friday, and with this game being the second half of a back-to-back set, it wouldn't be surprising if the Spurs decide to limit Wembanyama's minutes. It's also worth noting that Wembanyama has failed to reach the total of 40 P+R+A in his last three games after doing so in each of his first five contests. The Pelicans have a few imposing presences in the frontcourt that could limit Wembanyama's influence, but the nature of the game could also play a role. Exercise caution on what the Frenchman can do, as he also might cede some touches to De'Aaron Fox (hamstring), who's expected to return to the lineup Saturday.
Indiana Pacers vs. Denver Nuggets: Pascal Siakam to score over 26.5 points, -110 @ DraftKings
Siakam is firmly entrenched as the Pacers' primary weapon on offense, though that isn't surprising by any means. Indiana lost Myles Turner in the offseason, Tyrese Haliburton is out for the year with an Achilles injury and Bennedict Mathurin is week-to-week due to a toe injury that will sideline him here. Thus, Siakam should have a huge usage rate once again. Playing against the Nuggets' frontcourt isn't the best matchup, but Siakam should find a way to get his points one way or the other. Siakam generated 23 points (10-21 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-6 FT) in the loss to the Nets on Wednesday, and given that he's attempted at least 20 shots in all but one of his previous six games, he should have enough volume to have another dominant scoring performance. Siakam has reached the 27-point mark in four of his last six outings and five times across eight contests this season, so the body of work also supports this potential outcome.
