Tuesday's 15-game MLB slate begins at 2:20 PM Eastern time. Neither of the suggested pitchers are priced among the five most expensive in this slate, but both could easily finish top-five in scoring based on their recent results.
They're joined by batters in favorable matchups from all across the price spectrum. For those interested, we've started an MLB DFS slack channel for paid RotoWire subscribers. (There is a season-long one as well). To join those channels, e-mail support@rotowire.com.
PITCHER
Zach Eflin, PHI vs. BAL ($44): Eflin's on fire heading into this favorable home tilt, having won each of his past five starts while posting a 1.76 ERA (six runs in 30.2 innings) and 28:6 K:BB. That hot streak came against much tougher competition -- Cubs, Milwaukee twice, Nationals and Yankees -- so Eflin should dominate an Orioles offense that ranks 28th in runs scored (3.67) and strikes out ninth-most (8.92) per game. Keep in mind that Baltimore's lineup will be even less potent with the pitcher batting in the National League ballpark as opposed to a designated hitter.
Shane Bieber, CLE at KC ($38): Bieber's major-league career is off to a tremendous start, as he's 3-0 with a 2.22 ERA, 2.70 FIP and 26.2 percent strikeout rate through four outings. A lack of track record is still depressing his price a bit, so this could be your last chance to pounce on Bieber at a discount. The rookie righty's risk here is limited by the ineptitude of Kansas City's offense, which ranks last in the league at 3.47 runs per game.

CATCHER
Austin Romine, NYY vs. ATL ($7): Romine is expected to return from his hamstring injury here, which is good news for a Yankees club that's already missing Gary Sanchez (groin). While the backup catcher is no Sanchez at the plate, he does have a serviceable .336 wOBA at Yankee Stadium and a .312 season mark against lefties. Given the venue's sixth-ranked, 1.13 park factor and the explosive nature of the offense around Romine, he's worth a look at $7 against southpaw Sean Newcomb, whose 3.94 xFIP suggests his 2.71 ERA has benefitted from a lot of luck.
FIRST BASE
Joey Votto, CIN vs. CWS ($23): Votto has as high a floor as any hitter in this slate here. The left-handed slugger is crushing right-handed pitching as usual to the tune of a .417 wOBA. Expect more of the same against White Sox righty Lucas Giolito, who's allowing a .397 wOBA to batters from the left side.
SECOND BASE
Chad Pinder, OAK vs. SD ($10): Pinder's success against left-handed pitching hasn't gone unnoticed -- manager Bob Melvin likes to bat the versatile fielder second in the order when the opposition puts a southpaw like Clayton Richard on the mound. Richard has allowed a .380 road wOBA to right-handed hitters in his career while Pinder has a .362 wOBA in 80 at-bats against lefties this season, making him a strong under-the-radar pick.
THIRD BASE
Anthony Rendon, WAS vs. BOS ($21): Rendon has thrived against left-handed pitching this season, producing a .399 wOBA in 65 such at-bats. That success should continue at home against Red Sox southpaw Brian Johnson, who has surrendered a .346 wOBA to batters from the right side, including a .364 mark on the road.
SHORTSTOP
Andrelton Simmons, LAA at SEA ($12): Simmons has turned into a tremendous hitter against left-handed pitching, putting together a .383 wOBA and 14 walks through 87 such plate appearances this season. Scuffling Mariners southpaw Wade LeBlanc is going to have a tough time slowing Simmons down if LeBlanc's recent form is any indication. Over his last two starts, LeBlanc's been tagged for 10 runs (nine earned) in just 10.1 innings.
OUTFIELD
Charlie Blackmon, COL vs. SF ($17): Blackmon has a .352 wOBA against right-handed pitching, and his spot in the two-hole also helps the left-handed slugger accrue plenty of counting stats at the hitter-friendly Coors Field, which has a league-high 1.43 park factor. At $17, Blackmon represents strong value against Giants righty Chris Stratton, who just surrendered five earned runs in four innings to the Rockies in his last start to raise his season ERA to 4.45.
Eric Thames, MIL vs. MIN ($19): The 168 batters to face Twins righty Jake Odorizzi from the left side this season have produced a .357 wOBA, and Thames' .413 home wOBA in 2018 suggests he's far from your average left-handed hitter. Not only does Thames benefit from batting in the top third of the Brewers' order, but he also knows how to take advantage of Miller Park's sixth-ranked, 1.20 home run park factor. Twenty-six of his 42 long balls since the start of last season have come at home, and 22 of those 26 were against righties.
Odubel Herrera, PHI vs. BAL ($18): Herrera's another guy that's thrived at home, producing a .372 wOBA in Citizens Bank Park. His upside at the homer-friendly venue (fifth-ranked, 1.21 home run park factor) is tremendous against Baltimore starter Alex Cobb, who comes in with a .408 wOBA allowed to left-handed hitters and a HR/9 of 1.69.
