A couple pitchers stand above the rest on Saturday's slate and I went with the cheaper option facing the Tigers. Finding decent bats is easier than normal, as a lot of starters are struggling. I went somewhat cheaper in the infield and rolled with a couple bigger hitters in the outfield that hopefully won't be as popular as guys in the upper echelon.
PITCHER
Jack Flaherty, STL at DET ($52): The Tigers are hitting well for once, but I'm not sure that will continue against Flaherty, who has given up just 11 hits and three runs over his last four starts. Combine that with a 30.1 K% and he can match any pitcher on the slate. As for the Tigers, they continue to produce poor numbers against righties with a 23.6 K% and .300 wOBA since the All-Star break.
Noah Syndergaard, NYM vs. PHI ($43): Syndergaard's upside was evident last outing when he struck out 11 and pitched a full game en route to 48.3 fantasy points. He's lacked consistency, but as a favorite in a game with an over/under of seven runs, Syndergaard provides great value. The Phillies also sport subpar numbers against righty arms since the break with a .309 wOBA.

CATCHER
Jonathan Lucroy, OAK vs. TEX ($8): Lucroy doesn't bring excitement, but he's cheap and the A's could light up Yohander Mendez. At the least, Lucroy has posted a .341 OBP against southpaws in his last 41 plate appearances to go with a career .343 wOBA. Mendez looked good against the Twins last start, yet it's still hard to put faith in him after only making it three innings and giving up six runs in his only other start this year.
FIRST BASE
Justin Smoak, TOR vs. CLE ($17): Smoak is no longer hitting a home run every game, but he's still plenty potent with a .261 ISO and .375 wOBA against righties this year. The Indians have lost in Adam Plutko's last four starts and there's little reason to trust him with a 3.33 HR/9 against lefty bats, which comes from 10 homers allowed in only 27 innings.
SECOND BASE
David Fletcher, LAA at CWS ($12): Fletcher is cheap and gets on base against righty arms with a .344 OBP, which could work in this matchup. It's never easy to predict how James Shields will pitch, but his 5.07 xFIP and .337 wOBA allowed to righties aren't promising stats.
THIRD BASE
Hunter Dozier, KC at MIN ($16): If you need to save money, Dozier is worth a look on his current run with multiple hits in six of his last nine games to go with a .198 ISO against righties. Jose Berrios sports solid overall numbers, yet continues to allow runs with eight given up in his last two starts without going more than five innings in any of his last five outings.
SHORTSTOP
Didi Gregorius, NYY at SEA ($20): Gregorius is back from the DL and gets a tasty matchup to help get back in form. He's displayed most of his power against righty arms, with a .234 ISO and .352 wOBA standing out. There's a decent chance Felix Hernandez gives up a couple homers in this game with a 1.96 HR/9 and .361 wOBA allowed against lefties.
OUTFIELD
Billy McKinney, TOR vs. CLE ($22): McKinney is another lefty I'm banking on against Plutko, who has given up 11 runs in his last three starts to go with a 6.59 xFIP against lefties. McKinney has rocked righties for three homers and four doubles in just 49 at-bats. The price is hefty, but he's getting on base every game and Plutko gives up power to lefty hitters.
Brandon Nimmo, NYM vs. PHI ($22): Nimmo has returned to form the last few weeks and gets a nice matchup to continue that. He's recorded a .266 ISO and .409 wOBA for the season against righties and his OBP is up to .466 since the All-Star break. Zach Eflin is struggling, having allowed 32 hits and 14 runs over his last four starts to go with a .363 wOBA allowed to righties for the season.
Denard Span, SEA vs. NYY ($16): Better options exist on the Mariners, but Span doesn't cost much and is consistent with a .342 wOBA against righty hurlers. That matches well with Lance Lynn's massive struggles against lefty bats, including allowing a .377 wOBA and at least five runs in three of his last four outings.
