Closer Watch

New York Mets: Jeurys Familia picked up his fourth save of the year Thursday and his fifth save Friday, allowing just one hit out of the two contests and further cementing himself in the role. With Bobby Parnell's return date still over a week away, the 25-year-old hurler will have an even longer audition. If he continues to perform in the role, it will become more difficult to remove him from it even when Parnell comes back.

San Diego Padres: Craig Kimbrel picked up his fourth save of the season Friday, allowing one hit and striking out a batter. Through six outings this season, the fireballer has allowed just four hits and no runs, and remains one of the top relief arms in baseball. The move to San Diego should also benefit him as the season progresses, with the Padres expected to be a better overall team than the Braves.

Recommended Pickup

Devon Travis, 2B, TOR – While Travis likely won't remain a long-term fixture at the top of the Blue Jays' order, Jose Reyes will miss the weekend series and will be re-evaluated next week, so a stint on the disabled list isn't out of the question. He made the most of his audition in the leadoff spot Friday, going 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in the game. The 24-year-old has been scorching the ball to start the season, batting .375/.419/.700 with three home runs and 12 RBI through Friday. While he may drop to the bottom of the order again in the near future, he's still worth a flier in most leagues given his power potential as a second baseman and the fact that he plays in the hitter-friendly confines of the Rogers Centre.
