The wild card games have been played, and now we get to the divisional seriess. There are only two games Thursday, but that doesn't mean you can't play daily fantasy baseball. If you do, here are some recommendations.
PITCHER
Mike Foltynewicz, ATL at LAD ($9,400): Since the Brewers haven't decided on a starter, there are only three hurlers to choose from Thursday. Foltynewicz was better on the road than at home, as he had a 2.48 ERA in away games. Meanwhile, the Dodgers actually were worst offensively at Chavez Ravine, as they ranked 16th in runs scored at home.
CATCHER/FIRST BASE
Jesus Aguilar, MIL vs. COL ($3,700): Let's start off with a big, reliable bat at first base. Aguilar has slashed .274/.352/.539 with 35 homers and 108 RBI. Since the Rockies burned so many pitchers in the wild card game, they are starting Antonio Senzatela in Game 1, and he has a 4.36 FIP in his career.
SECOND BASE
Ozzie Albies, ATL at LAD ($3,300): The second base options aren't great, but Albies has a couple things going for him. He has power, as he had 24 homers this year. Additionally, he hits lefties better than righties. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been great since returning from injury, but he is a lefty. Might as well roll the dice on Albies.
THIRD BASE
Mike Moustakas, MIL vs. COL ($3,600): Moustakas' power dipped a bit after being traded to the Brewers, but his batting average and OBP both went up. Plus, he still hit eight homers in 54 games with Milwaukee. As previously noted, Antonio Senzatela has a 4.36 career FIP, and he's pretty clearly the worst of the three starting pitchers than have been named for Thursday. He's the guy to consider piling up on.
SHORTSTOP
Trevor Story, COL at MIL ($3,800): Story will be hoping he gets to face a lefty, but even if he doesn't he's been hot recently. Over the final 21 days of the regular season he had a .996 OPS. We don't know who will start for the Brewers, but it's looking like it might be Junior Guerra. If it is, he has a 4.28 FIP.
OUTFIELD
Lorenzo Cain, MIL vs. COL ($3,500): Cain doesn't have big power, he had 10 homers this year, but the guy gets on base. He posted a .395 OBP, and he also happened to have a .308 batting average. On top of that, he swiped 30 bags in 141 games. Antonio Senzatela doesn't strike out a lot of guys, which is good for somebody who has speed and makes contact like Cain, and the Rockies starter also had a 4.38 ERA this year.
David Dahl, COL at MIL ($3,100): You may have heard, if you've watched the Rockies recently, that Dahl ended the regular season quite hot. He hit six homers in his final seven regular season games, but if you want a bigger sample size he had a 1.012 OPS in September. The southpaw Dahl hits righties much better than lefties, so if Junior Guerra is on the mound for the Brewers that bodes well for him.
Yasiel Puig, LAD vs. ATL ($2,900): For the last two seasons, Puig has struggled against lefties, but he's mashed against righties. This year, for example, he had a .921 OPS in those matchups. Mike Foltynewicz is a good pitcher, but Puig has a ton of power, so at this price it's worth seeing if he can pop a ball out of the park.
