FanDuel MLB: Sunday Breakdown

FanDuel MLB: Sunday Breakdown

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Sunday's main FanDuel MLB slate begins at 1:05 PM Eastern time and features nine games. Below, you'll find which individual pitchers and hitters are primed to provide the best value, as well as the top lineup stacking options in this expansive schedule.

Pitching Overview

There are plenty of accomplished starting pitchers, with seven priced between $9,500 and $10,700. Chris Archer ($10,100) should be a popular pick at home against the light-hitting Giants. The Pirates' ace is done serving his suspension and will resume a campaign that's featured a 24:7 K:BB through 18 innings.

James Paxton's ($9,600) Yankees tenure got off to a rocky start, but he endeared himself to the fan base with 12 strikeouts versus only two hits allowed in eight shutout innings against the rival Red Sox last time out. The talented lefty will have a great opportunity to add to his success against the visiting Royals.

Among affordable options, White Sox righty Reynaldo Lopez ($6,700) stands out. He took advantage of a favorable matchup against the Royals with 40 fantasy points in his last start and draws another exploitable Central Division foe here, with Detroit sporting a bottom-three offense.

Key Values/Chalk

Kris Bryant ($3,700) has done almost all his damage this season at Wrigley Field, which is where he'll be for this meeting with southpaw Robbie Ray. Bryant owns a .405 career wOBA against lefties while Ray has had major control problems against right-handed batters, walking 15 of the 73 he's faced this season.

On the other side of this matchup, Christian Walker ($3,900) has been a pleasant surprise early on for the D-Backs. He's done most of his damage in righty-on-righty matchups ahead of a meeting with subpar hurler Tyler Chatwood.

Whether he's batting leadoff or cleanup, third baseman Yandy Diaz ($4,000) has mashed for the hot-starting Rays. He's posted a wOBA over .400 in an admittedly small sample size against lefties this season and will look to keep rolling against Red Sox southpaw David Price, who gave up four earned runs over six innings in each of his two road starts.

Stacks

Prominent left-handed Mets hitters like Robinson Cano ($3,400), Michael Conforto ($4,500) and Brandon Nimmo ($3,400) are likely to wreak havoc on Cardinals righty Dakota Hudson. Hudson has surrendered a .472 wOBA to the 94 batters he's faced from the left side in his career, including a .629 mark to 41 such hitters this season.

Royals righty Jorge Lopez has had trouble keeping the ball in the park, with six home runs allowed through 23 innings pitched. The Yankees' rash of injuries continued Saturday with Aaron Judge (oblique) going down, but they still have a number of healthy sluggers capable of adding to Lopez's struggles - including Luke Voit ($3,800), Gleyber Torres ($3,400) and Clint Frazier ($3,500).

Both starting pitchers in the Twins-Orioles game enter with an ERA north of 7.00, setting up both offenses for success. Eddie Rosario ($4,100) is slugging over .700 for the Twins and remains a major power threat against homer-prone Dylan Bundy. For the Orioles, Dwight Smith ($3,600) also maintains the platoon advantage over Twins righty Kyle Gibson.
