FanDuel MLB: Saturday Playoff Plays

FanDuel MLB: Saturday Playoff Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Here we go! It's time for a Game 7! The Brewers and Dodgers are playing in Milwaukee for all the proverbial marbles. Walker Buehler and Jhoulys Chacin are lined up to start, but all hands will be on deck. Don't be surprised if Clayton Kershaw or Josh Hader, for example, pitch a handful of innings. We have Single Game rules, which means you choose five players, one has to be an infielder, one has to be an outfielder and one is your MVP worth 1.5 times the points.

MVP

Justin Turner, LAD at MIL ($8,500): Turner was better at home this year, but he still slashed .317/.409/.492 on the road. He has plenty of power, as he hit at least 21 homers in his previous two seasons, though he was held to 14 this year due to injury limiting him to 103 games. Plus, if the Brewers go to their bullpen, Turner will be fine. He actually had a 1.028 OPS against lefties, which will come in handy if Josh Hader takes the mound.

INFIELD

Travis Shaw, MIL vs. LAD ($6,500): Shaw will hope Walker Buehler is on the mound for a while, because he's been held in check due to the Dodgers having lefties on the mound the last couple games. Against righties, Shaw had an .892 OPS, and 30 of his 32 homers came in those matchups. Buehler had a very good year, but he was less dominant on the road. He had a 3.45 ERA in away games.

OUTFIELD

Ryan Braun, MIL vs. LAD ($7,000): The playoffs are a small sample size, but Braun had a .280 batting average this postseason. Every full season of his career, the one-time MVP has managed at least 20 and 11 stolen bases, which were fittingly his numbers in 125 games this season. The 34-year-old also has an .867 OPS at home since 2016, so the fact this game is at Miller Park is a point in his favor.

UTILITY

Max Muncy, LAD at MIL ($7,500): Muncy's story is well known at this point, as he broke out in a major way with a .263/.391/.582 slashline. Although Dave Roberts has somewhat inexplicably platooned Muncy with David Freese, he likely will start Muncy with a righty in Jhoulys Chacin starting the game. The slugger had a 1.001 OPS against righties, but he also had an .891 OPS against lefties. No matter who is on the mound, Muncy has a chance.

Yasiel Puig, LAD at MIL ($5,500): Unlike Max Muncy, Puig had a bit of a platoon split. However, he had a .921 OPS against right handers, so this matchup is looking good for him. The Cuban slugger also was decidedly better on the road this year, posting a .965 OPS in away games. As for Jhoulys Chacin, he had a 4.07 FIP this year, which was his lowest FIP since 2013.
