Ah, Monday. It's not yet the province of the NFL, which means we can still give all our attention to Major League Baseball. There are 10 games on the slate, all of them in the evening. That means you have until 7:05 PM ET to get your daily fantasy lineups in. Speaking of your lineups, here are some recommendations to try and make them as good, and rewarding, as possible.
PITCHER
Zack Wheeler, NYM vs. SF ($9,100): Wheeler has enjoyed a great stretch recently, as he's picked up a win in six straight starts. He hasn't had to rely entirely on the Mets offense to get him those victories, as his ERA is 2.04 in that time. The Giants only rank 25th in runs scored, so there's a good chance Wheeler can keep up this hot streak.
GPP Fade: Rick Porcello, BOS vs. CLE ($9,300): Porcello has an impressive 15-5 record, but he can thank the league's best offense for that. His ERA is only 4.04, and at home it's actually an even more mediocre 4.57. Cleveland's offense isn't quite as good as Boston's, but it still ranks third in runs scored. This could be a long day for Porcello… or a short outing.
Cheap GPP Consideration: Marco Estrada, TOR vs. BAL ($7,100): Estrada's overall numbers won't wow you, but over his last 10 starts he has a 4.00 ERA. This is as much about the matchup as Estrada's performance, however. The Orioles are 28th in runs scored, and on the road they have a .658 OPS as a team.
CATCHER/FIRST BASE
Max Muncy, LAD vs. STL ($3,400): Now that Muncy has kept up his breakout numbers for almost a full season, we have to accept them as legitimate. The guy has a .961 OPS and has hit 28 homers in 101 games, and he's done all that with an entirely sustainable .279 BABIP. Cardinals rookie pitcher Austin Gomber has a 2.89 ERA, but that's in only 21 games, and only four starts. Plus, his FIP is a less impressive 4.30.
SECOND BASE
Marwin Gonzalez, HOU at SEA ($3,100): Gonzalez hasn't replicated his breakout campaign of 2017, but he's been performing at a better pace recently. Over his last 30 games, the 29-year-old has slashed .276/.366/.480. Unfortunately, such a rebound has not been in the cards for Felix Hernandez. He has a 5.62 ERA, and if not for injury he would still be in the bullpen after losing his spot in the rotation due to his poor pitching.
THIRD BASE
Mike Moustakas, MIL vs. CIN ($3,500): Moustakas has been hitting well since being traded to the Brewers, as he's posted a .290/.367/.449 slash line in 20 games. You'd like to see a little more power, but he had 20 homers in 98 games with the Royals before the trade, so he's clearly had pop this year. It would be fitting for him to go yard against Homer Bailey, and there's also a good chance it will happen. The Reds starter has a 5.61 FIP and has given up 1.90 home runs per nine innings this season.
SHORTSTOP
Marcus Semien, OAK vs. TEX ($2,900): For the fourth season in a row, Semien has notched double-digit homers and stolen bases. He's had a nice recent run of power as well, as three of his 10 homers have come in his last 14 games. Bartolo Colon was bumped from Sunday's start with a back issue, and he still might not be able to start Monday. If he can't, the Rangers will have to scramble for a starter. If he can, then he brings his 5.19 ERA to the mound. Either way, it bodes well for Semien.
OUTFIELD
Eddie Rosario, MIN vs. CWS ($3,600): Rosario has built upon his breakout 2017, and he currently has a .294 batting average, a personal best. He also has 22 homers in 121 games, and could easily end up beating the 27 he put up last year. A matchup with Lucas Giolito could definitely help on that front. The White Sox starter has a 6.15 ERA and has allowed 1.63 homers per game in his career.
Khris Davis, OAK vs. TEX ($3,500): Davis crushes the ball. This much we know. He has 36 home runs in 114 games, and is primed to hit at least 40 homers for the third straight season. In fact, he currently sports a .565 slugging percentage, the best of his career since he was a rookie who played 56 games for the Brewers. Whether it's Colon or somebody else on the mound for the Rangers, Davis will be a threat to take them deep.
Max Kepler, MIN vs. CWS ($2,900): Kepler has really benefited from home cooking. While he has a .643 OPS on the road, in his own ballpark the German outfielder has a .844 OPS. Meanwhile, Giolito has a 6.15 ERA and 5.83 FIP. Beyond that, he has a 5.69 FIP in his career.
