Pitcher
Max Scherzer, WAS at SD ($11,500) – When you see the likes of Corey Kluber and Scherzer at the top, and guys like Carlos Martinez, Rich Hill and Dallas Keuchel just below, you get a sense that the pitching will be pretty thin over the next few days until these guys get split up. Scherzer is the best option on this slate because of the matchup against the Padres, who continue to be among the worst against righties this season.
Catcher
Tyler Flowers, ATL vs CIN ($2,600) – Flowers gets a matchup against Sal Romano, who is one of the worst starters in the majors right now. Flowers enters with a .357 wOBA against righties this season.
First Base
Freddie Freeman, ATL vs CIN ($3,900) – I haven't used Freddie Freeman all that often since his return from the DL, but with his price below $4k and a matchup against Romano, this feels like the right time. Romano enters with a 6.05 ERA and he's surrendered 15 runs in his past 17 innings. Freeman enters with a .455 wOBA against righties this season, which is second best in the majors.
Second Base
Jose Altuve, HOU vs OAK ($4,500) – Sean Manaea, who started the year flashing some potential, hasn't been great lately. Altuve is obviously one of the better picks on the Astros, entering with a .414 wOBA against righties.
Shortstop
Brandon Crawford, SF vs PHI ($2,300) – Crawford has been anything but consistent this season, but with a matchup against Zach Eflin, he makes for a fine pick. Crawford provides a cheap option with high upside on a slate full of quality high-priced options.
Third Base
Travis Shaw, MIL at COL ($4,300) – At the beginning of the season, all the talk around the Brewers involved Eric Thames, but as Thames has slowed down, Shaw has continued to produce. Shaw enters with a .403 wOBA against righties this season, which is 14th in the majors. German Marquez takes the mound for the Rockies, and while he's pitched admirably considering where he pitches half his games, his ERA is still above 4.00.
Outfield
Delino DeShields Jr., TEX vs CHW ($2,900) – If DeShields is at the top of the lineup against James Shields, you'll want to get a piece of him. Shields enters on a streak of two consecutive quality starts, but he also brings a 5.90 ERA with him.
Chris Taylor, LAD at DET ($3,700) – Taylor is a good pick since his price has finally come down a bit from the $4k level, where it stayed for too long. Taylor enters with a .388 wOBA against righties this season, which is second on the Dodgers, so he should be in for a solid performance against Jordan Zimmermann.
Charlie Blackmon, COL vs PHI ($5,100) – Matt Garza takes the mound for the Brewers and he's be in poor form lately, allowing 11 runs in his past 8.2 innings. Blackmon enters with a .416 wOBA against righties this season, which leads the Rockies and is 11th in the majors.
