The players featured in this piece will be building blocks that can work in several lineup configurations (cash and GPP). The Brewers were able to stay alive with a big win Friday night, setting up an exciting Game 7 to see who moves on to the World Series. That also means another opportunity to play the showdown contest on DratfKings.
Walker Buehler, LAD ($16,000): The Dodgers will turn to the 24-year-old Buehler to try and get them to the World Series. He was certainly impressive this year, posting a 2.62 ERA. 0.96 WHIP and a 9.9 K/9 during the regular season. Hitters also had a hard time taking him deep, with Buehler allowing just 0.8 HR/9. This is a tough situation for a young starter, pitching on the road in a win-or-go-home scenario. If he shows any signs of struggling, the Dodgers will likely have a quick hook. However, with his strikeout upside, he could really help your entry if he can provide some length.
Christian Yelich, MIL ($10,400): Yelich was amazing during the regular season, but he's only 6-for-32 (.188) during the Brewers playoff run. He's posted a .395 OBP, but has certainly been a disappointment based on the lofty expectations he's created due to his success. After finishing with a .442 wOBA at home and a .425 wOBA against right-handed pitchers, he still has a high ceiling Saturday.
Manny Machado, LAD ($9,600): Machado is hitless over the last two games, including a 0-for-4 performance with two strikeouts in Game 6. However, he was on fire to start this series, hitting 6-for-17 (.353) with a home run and a double across the first four games. He slugged 37 home runs and 35 doubles during the regular season, so he has the potential to provide value with just one swing of the bat.
Justin Turner, LAD ($8,300): Turner logged another hit Friday and has now recorded at least one in eight of the Dodgers' 10 playoff games. He only struck out a total of six times over those 10 games, four of which came in an uncharacteristic Game 1 performance. With his .406 OBP and .518 slugging percentage this year, he comes in with a high floor.
Lorenzo Cain, MIL ($6,000): The Brewers put up seven runs in Game 6 and it's no surprise Cain was heavily involved, finishing the contest 2-for-5 with two runs scored – marking his third multi-hit game of the series. His .359 wOBA this year qualified as the second-highest mark of his career, so he's still a viable option at this price even though he doesn't provide a ton of power.
Orlando Arcia, MIL ($4,700): With yet another hit in Game 6, Arcia has now recorded at least one in all eight games that he has started during the playoffs. He even has three home runs, two of which have come in this series. Facing Buehler is no easy task, but Arcia could be a viable option in tournament play based on the relief he can provide for your budget.
Josh Hader, MIL ($3,600):Jhoulys Chacin is scheduled to start this deciding game for the Brewers, but expect them to go to their bullpen early and often. One of the key players they will likely use is Hader, who dominated during the regular season with a 15.8 K/9. If he can come close to replicating the four-strikeout, three-shutout inning performance from Game 1, he could be a difference maker at this price. Hader hasn't pitched since Game 4, so he's certainly well rested.
