2025 Fantasy Outlook
Ramsdale had a challenging 2024/25 season. He joined Saints from Arsenal early in the season to evolve from being a benched backup to securing a regular starting slot. From 30 appearances he managed just three clean sheets, but his performances were influenced by a weak supporting Southampton team in front on him. Paradoxically, he posted the most saves per game in the EPL (4.2) and also conceded the most goals per game (2.2). He pulled off some superb saves over the season and made no errors that led goals, he should be able to distinguish himself in the Championship as he and his defenders deal with the more modest pace of England's second league.
Concedes two in draw
Ramsdale recorded six saves and allowed two goals in Wednesday's 2-2 draw versus Bayer Leverkusen. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 82nd minute.
ANALYSIS
Ramsdale conceded an own goal off Bruno Guimarães and a late goal from Leverkusen following a build-up play. Despite making six saves, the Newcastle defense allowed 17 shots and seven on target, leaving Ramsdale with a heavy workload on the night. He has now failed to keep a clean sheet in all four of his starts for Newcastle since Nick Pope's injury against Marseille in their previous Champions League fixture. Pope is expected to reclaim the starting role once he returns from injury later in December.
