It's a short gameweek with only 10 clubs in action which means it should be easier to select a captain, right? That's the hope at least, but as usual, there are a few players vying for the armband.

Sergio Aguero will be a popular choice after his brace against Aston Villa last weekend. Since returning from his midseason injury issues, Aguero has scored nine goals in the last nine matches.

Manchester City may not be playing all that well away from home (10 points from their last 10 road games), but that really hasn't changed Aguero's value. The Argentine has been just as good away from the Etihad, scoring four goals in his last four road games.

To make things even better for Aguero backers, City take on a Norwich City squad that has just one point from their last six matches. Norwich is a bit better at home this campaign, but they have still allowed 22 goals in 14 matches.

Outside of Aguero, the boys from Leicester will surely draw looks from plenty of owners. Jaime Vardy has fallen back to earth a bit and hasn't scored in three straight matches while midfielder Riyad Mahrez has been the better play of late with a goal and an assist in the last two games. But it wouldn't be surprising if both players found the back of the net (or at least assisted) against lowly Newcastle.

Newcastle has been downright terrible on the road this season scoring just seven goals while allowing 32. In their last six matches away from home, Newcastle has scored two goals and allowed 13, all resulting in losses.

On the other end, Leicester haven't been quite as flawless lately, but they have still scored eight goals in their last four matches at the King Power Stadium. This coming after two scoreless draws there.

For more captain options, Harry Kane is always worth a look, despite scoring once in his last three matches. Spurs may be on the road, but they take on Aston Villa, a club that has allowed 15 goals in their last four matches. That's reason enough to consider Kane, or even Christian Eriksen or Dele Alli if you're feeling risky.

To really go against the norm, Bournemouth's Matt Ritchie has a goal and three assists in the last four matches and is home to Swansea. Another choice could be Mame Biram Diouf, who will be looking to score in two straight after netting at Chelsea last weekend.

Gameweek 30 Captain Rankings

2. Riyad Mahrez, Leicester City
3. Harry Kane, Tottenham
