For the first time since the opening week of the season, Mohamed Salah is no longer the sole leader in Golden Boot odds. Despite scoring from the penalty spot Saturday against West Ham to bring his season total to seven, Salah's +400 odds to finish as the league's top scorer are now level with Tottenham's Harry Kane, who scored against Brighton to bring him to six goals in seven games. Interestingly, teammate Son Heung-Min is the team's top scorer with eight goals, which also co-leads the Premier League, but he's stuck in fifth-place on the odds chart at +800.
Son is tied with Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who also scored this past weekend, which means he's found the back of the net in all but one Premier League game this season. His +700 odds are fourth-best, as he also remains behind Leicester City's Jamie Vardy (+600), who scored against Leeds on Monday to leave him just one goal behind the league leaders. Vardy's move from +700 seems to have had a direct effect on Son, who moved from +600 after not scoring against Brighton. The five leaders are firmly in front, as Chelsea's Timo Werner is next at +1200, improving from +1600 after scoring against Burnley in a match he wasn't supposed to start but was thrust into emergency duty when Christian Pulisic pulled up lame in the warm-up.
The biggest mover of the week was Newcastle's Callum Wilson, who scored once again from the penalty spot to give him six goals on the season (half from penalties), moving his odds from +6600 to +3300. It's a sizable move, though he's still a longer-shot to finish first. Moving in the other direction, Chelsea's Kai Havertz is still looking for his second goal of the season, and another scoreless outing moved him from +6600 to +10000.
In addition to Havertz moving down, we saw four players fall off the list entirely, as Phil Foden (recently +15000), Sebastien Haller (+15000), Olivier Giroud (+15000) and Ashley Barnes (+20000) are no longer being offered. We thank them for their efforts and combined three goals.
