With six Premier League matches this Saturday and four on Sunday, the split fixture list makes it worthwhile to consider which players could reap rewards on each day.
That being said, let's try to pinpoint some potential difference-makers while dividing the Premiership's pool of players by their Week 10 matchdays.
Saturday
FWD: Jamie Vardy (£9.5M)
As the season keeps rolling along, so does Vardy's torrid form. In scoring twice last weekend against Southampton, Vardy pushed his league-leading total to nine goals through nine games. The Englishman has provided at least one goal or one assist in all but one match, propelling him to 91.44 points on MondoGoal. That makes Vardy the top ranked forward heading into Week 10, when he'll take on a Crystal Palace team that allowed three goals at home last weekend.
MID: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£6.8M)
Although Arsenal's attack features far more accomplished options, Oxlade-Chamberlain could emerge as an undervalued commodity soon. That's because teammate Aaron Ramsey's hamstring injury figures to open a golden opportunity for Oxlade-Chamberlain to start on the Gunners' right wing, beginning Saturday against Everton. A player with loads of potential, Oxlade-Chamberlain's £6.8M salary is quite affordable, and his confidence should benefit from having scored for England over the recent international break.
DEF: Erik Pieters (£7.6M)
Another under-the-radar selection going into Week 10, Pieters and Stoke City's defense have posted back-to-back clean sheets prior to this weekend's game against Watford, who have scored the fewest goals in the Premier League this season. Additionally, Pieters has won 27 tackles and 16 fouls, both of which rank second among defenders set to play Saturday. Combined, the Dutchman's 48.72 MondoGoal points make him a top-20 player at his position, but compared to many of his superiors, his £7.6M price tag is relatively cheap.
Sunday
GK: Hugo Lloris (£7.6M)
The most lopsided matchup on paper Sunday is between Tottenham and Bournemouth, who are separated by six points in the standings. Spurs' success thus far has been fueled by a strong defense, as their seven goals allowed are currently tied for the fewest in the Premiership. Lloris is a big part of that unit, and his 6.94 points per game average places him fourth on MondoGoal among goalkeepers with at least five appearances. The Frenchman claimed his fourth clean sheet against Liverpool last weekend and this Sunday's matchup appears even more favorable.
MID: Georginio Wijnaldum (£10.9M)
The star of Week 9, Wijnaldum went absolutely berserk against Norwich City, scoring four of Newcastle's six goals on the day. Such a performance from a midfielder brought about 40.20 points on MondoGoal, which single-handedly is more than most midfielders have scored all this season. Now sitting on six goals through his first nine Premier League matches, the Dutchman should be licking his chops ahead of his introduction to the Tyne-Wear derby this Sunday, especially since only one team has leaked more goals than Sunderland.
FWD: Wilfried Bony (£9.2M)
With teammate Sergio Aguero out injured, Bony took full advantage of his opportunity to lead the Manchester City line last weekend, scoring two goals and providing an assist. That outburst resulted in 29.26 MondoGoal points, more than Bony had accrued on the season prior to then. Even without Aguero and fellow star David Silva, Manchester City's high-powered attack produced five goals, which followed their six scores in Week 8. That puts the Citizens and Bony is great form ahead of Sunday's Manchester derby, and his £9.2M salary won't break the bank.
