Fantasy Premier League Rankings: Week 31

We have our first really short slate coming up this weekend, as 10 teams have had their Premier League fixtures postponed due to various FA Cup obligations. Included in that group is a significant number of popular fantasy options, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham off the board, leaving the rankings pretty light in terms of actually playable stars.

This is an ideal week for the free hit chip in the Premier League's official game, as you can finally stack all the Burnley, Newcastle and Huddersfield guys you've wanted to all season (right?). In actuality, players from Liverpool and Chelsea figure to be very popular in free hit teams thanks to their matches away to Fulham and Everton, respectively, And, as a result, you'll see their players high in the rankings this week, even though it feels like Mohamed Salah hasn't scored a goal in years (or Eden Hazard, for that matter, even if he found the back of the net just last week).

If you're sitting there wondering if it's just better to take a few zeros and not use your free hit, I think that's the wrong move. You could consider the free hit during a double gameweek, a strategy I successfully used last season, but that red arrow will likely represent a pretty big drop this time around. Just suck it up and play it like everyone else, even if you'd rather fill your team with differentials like Steve Mounie or Chicharito.
