PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Tom Heaton, BUR vs. HUL ($5,000): Heaton has been superb so far this season, already racking up 18 saves. A seven-save clean sheet against Swansea and just one goal allowed to Liverpool (with five saves) started the Burnley man on a strong foot. Even in giving up three goals playing away at Chelsea before the international break, Heaton still made six saves. Hull has been a bit of a Cinderella this season, but after tasting bitter defeat in the waning moments against Manchester United we may finally see them begin their descent back to a squad that'd be happy to just stave of relegation come season's end.
Ben Foster, WBA at BOU ($4,500): Bournemouth has retooled slightly with the addition of Jack Wilshere, but they still project to be one of the poorer goal-scoring clubs in the league. Foster and the defensively proficient West Bromwich Albion already have two clean sheets on the season. They also have a talented striker in Salomon Rondon, and the addition of Nacer Chadli could finally lead to some quality balls in the box, ultimately leading to some win bonuses for Foster.
DEFENDER
Pape Souare, CRY at MID ($4,400): The addition of Christian Benteke has already made an effect on Souare, who had 10 crosses in Palace's last match. If Crystal Palace continues to run a 4-4-2, Souare should be expected to continue crossing the ball at a fairly high frequency, and who knows, maybe he'll even find Benteke's big head with one and grab an assist.
Jose Holebas, WAT at WHU ($3,700): Holebas earns the tagline, but after the signing of Daryl Janmaat, Watford finds itself with incredible depth among their wing backs. Holebas has gotten the starts of late and has even found himself on corners some, so he gets the main focus. However, Janmaat, Juan Zuniga and Brice Dja Djedje all warrant consideration when/if they make it into the starting lineup.
Matthew Lowton, BUR vs. HUL ($4,000): With 11 crosses this season, Lowton looks to clearly be the more desirable fantasy target of the two Burnley fullbacks. Despite allowing a hat trick against Chelsea last time out, Lowton still returned a serviceable 10 fantasy points.
MIDFIELD
Dimitri Payet, WHU vs. WAT ($9,400): If Payet can send in 12 crosses in just 33 minutes playing for France internationally, there seems to be no more hurdles blocking him from getting his first start of the season. It was Belarus, but still, 12 crosses in 33 minutes? He scored 14 fantasy points in just 33 minutes on the field, WITHOUT A GOAL! Those are staggering numbers, and a desirable home matchup against Watford is prime for Payet to pick up a huge quantity of fantasy counting stats. Even before his goal/assist upside, he figures to score 20+ fantasy points on his peripherals alone. If he starts, plug him in; it's that simple.
Jason Puncheon, CRY at MID ($5,700): Despite delivering fewer pure chances than teammate Andros Townsend (who I also like), Puncheon has been much more effective with his chances. He'll split corners and free kicks with Yohan Cabaye, and as I said, Benteke gives these Crystal Palace suppliers a very legitimate threat near the goal. Puncheon also picks up some points through defensive responsibilities, and he assisted Scott Dann's last minute goal against Bournemouth a couple weeks ago.
Joe Allen, STK vs. TOT ($4,100): Allen is only in play if Xherdan Shaqiri sits out, which looks to be a toss up. Allen looks to be the corner taker in the absence of Shaqiri and, not unlike Crystal Palace's Benteke, has an exciting new striker to direct his crosses at in Wilfried Bony
FORWARD
Erik Lamela, TOT at STK ($7,500): With none of the high-priced goal-dependent strikers in a great matchup or in particularly good form, Lamela offers an interesting option at a slight discount from players like Alexis Sanchez or Harry Kane. He's been splitting corners with Christian Eriksen, and combining that with the goal and assist he's picked up from open play, and you have a player with both a safe floor and the upside of the strikers that surround him.
Nacer Chadli, WBA at BOU ($5,400): It's still a bit unclear what role Chadli will play for West Brom, but it will be in the attack, and he is now probably their most talented player in the final third other than maybe Salomon Rondon. Whether he plays off of Rondon in a 4-4-1-1 or his more traditional left midfield role, I expect Chadli to produce at a level that will make his current price a fleeting memory within a few short weeks.
Nordin Amrabat, WAT at WHU ($4,100): Amrabat has scored eight, 13 and seven fantasy points in the first three games, respectively, despite difficult matchups with Southampton, Chelsea and Arsenal. He's cheap, the floor looks good, and the Morocco international remains forward eligible at an obnoxiously low floor.
