SLATE PREVIEW
Monday's 10-game slate features an early start for Predators at Lightning (4 p.m. EDT), so that game will only be available for the all-day slate.
Note the heavy favorites include the Lightning (-370), Capitals (-270) and Golden Knights (-270). The Bruins at Penguins (7 p.m.) and Oilers at Flames (9 p.m.) are expected to be very close.
GOALIES
Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB vs. NSH ($8,600): Vasilevskiy allowed three goals on 31 shots last game against the Preds, and he hasn't been quite his usual dominant self lately. Curtis McElhinney may draw the start to give Vasilevskiy a bit of a rest, but either way, the Lightning's offense and depth should be able to get them the win even if neither goalie is particularly sharp.
Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK vs. SJ ($8,400): This will be an interesting matchup because the Sharks have rattled off three straight wins with just three goalies allowed, though two of those games were against Anaheim. Vegas has the upper hand with a 3-0 lead in the season series and should get the win. Fleury is 2-0 with a .980 Sv% and 0.50 GAA against the Sharks this season.
Ilya Samsonov, WSH at BUF ($8,200): Samsonov's still shaking off some rust after allowing seven goals in two games against the Flyers, but he's still viewed as the No. 1. He allowed four goals on 26 shots in his first game of the season against the Sabres, but the Sabres have also only managed to score four goals just twice since Jan. 31.
Sergei Bobrovsky, FLA vs. CHI ($8,100): Bob has now rattled off five wins in a row and improved Florida's GA/GP to 12th in the league. The Blackhawks, meanwhile, have slipped, losing four of their past six and no longer getting the elite goaltending they had last month. Bob is 2-0 with a .912 Sv% against them this season.
Tristan Jarry, PIT vs. BOS ($7,700): Jarry has won three straight games and allowed four goals just once since Feb. 14. It's no coincidence the Pens have turned it around, and the Bruins offense has struggled recently with five goals in their past four games, including two shutout losses.
Jacob Markstrom, CGY vs. EDM ($7,500): The most telling stat for the Darryl Sutter's Flames: they allowed a combined two high-danger chances in the first two periods in their two-game series against the Habs. When the Flames can limit chances like that, it bodes well for Markstrom's numbers. This will be a good test to see if they can keep the Oilers' big stars in check. It's a risky play but may be worth it if the Flames can continue their stalwart defense.
Thatcher Demko, VAN at OTT ($7,000): If Demko was able to limit the Leafs, Habs and Oilers to just one goal apiece, then the Sens shouldn't pose much of a problem. Demko has been one of the league's best goalies lately, and he's 2-0 against the Sens this season with just two goals allowed on 79 shots. Demko should be a popular pick and a strong value play among goalies.
VALUE PLAYS
Jakub Vrana, WSH at BUF ($5,000): You don't usually find value plays at this salary, but Vrana is riding a five-game point streak and facing the league's worst team. Vrana can be frustrating because he's inconsistent and has not progressed much this season, but this is a very good matchup.
Jake Virtanen, VAN at OTT ($3,700): This is a good matchup for the Canucks and Virtanen has registered at least a shot in each of his past three games. The offense comes rarely, but with multiple injuries up front, Virtanen's minutes has been given a slight bump, and he'll occasionally get some time on the power play.
Erik Haula, NSH at TB ($3,600): It's generally advisable to stay away from the Preds this season, but Haula's an interesting case. He's struggled for most of his Preds tenure but he's scored four points in his past seven games, and despite playing mostly in the bottom-six, gets a lot of value added for playing on PP2. Not many players in his salary range gets to play as many minutes as Haula.
LINE STACKS
Kings vs. Blues
Anze Kopitar (C - $7,700), Alex Iafallo (W - $4,800), Adrian Kempe (W - $5,900)
Kopitar and Iafallo each recorded an assist yesterday against the Avs, and they should have a much easier time getting points against the porous Blues. Kopitar is having an MVP-caliber season and the relatively low salaries for Iafallo and Kempe make this a good value line stack. All three play on PP1.
Panthers vs. Blackhawks
Aleksander Barkov (C - $7,400), Anthony Duclair (W - $4,000), Carter Verhaeghe (W - $4,600)
It feels like robbery any time Barkov is not at the top of the list. The Panthers' top line for most of the season has been reunited and combined for seven points in their last game. This should be one of the best stacks of the night.
Canucks at Senators
J.T. Miller (C - $6,000), Brock Boeser (W - $7,200), Nils Hoglander (W - $3,500)
The Canucks had to scrape out a win against the Oilers, but it should be a very different type of game against the Senators. They've generated a ton of scoring chances in Elias Pettersson's absence, and the Canucks have outscored the Sens 16-3 in three games so far.
DEFENSEMEN
John Carlson, WSH at BUF ($6,600): There's no excuse for the Caps to not beat the Sabres by multiple goals. Carlson carries a four-game point streak into this game and along with Victor Hedman are the only two elite defenseman available for today's slate.
Drew Doughty, LA vs. STL ($6,200): The Kings were buried by the Avs, which means the puck wasn't on Doughty's stick very often. That will change against the Blues, who have lost four straight with 17 goals allowed. The Kings are already 4-1-1 against them this season with Doughty scoring three points.
Kris Letang, PIT vs. BOS ($6,000): I like what Letang brings to the table and no on else on the Pens blue line can create offense like him. Letang has failed to register a shot on goal just twice this season.
Shea Theodore, VGK vs. SJ ($5,700): We've been waiting for the moment Theodore popped up on the score sheet again. A goal against the Blues snapped a 16-game drought, and the assists are starting to pile up, too, with three in three games. When Theodore is scoring, he's as good as any defensemen in DFS.
Quinn Hughes, VAN at OTT ($5,100): Like Theodore, it's been a while since we've heard Hughes' name, and he has a good chance to snap his 13-game goal drought. The Canucks have played very well against the Sens this season, who may start their third-string goalie after Matt Murray was injured in warmup and Joey Daccord started the game yesterday.
