GOALIE
Mike Smith, CGY vs. DAL ($7,600): The Stars are a juggernaut offense and pace the NHL in high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (15.2). However, the Stars enter on the wrong end of back-to-back road contests, and Smith has settled in over his past four starts with a .927 save percentage and 2.22 GAA. There's plenty of risk, but with Calgary sporting a 1-3 home record, a strong team showing at Scotiabank Saddledome is well within reach.
CENTER
Brayden Schenn, STL at CAR ($6,300): Atop the depth chart between Vladimir Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz, Schenn is positioned to follow up Wednesday's multi-point showing. Carolina is in a tricky schedule spot after winning in Toronto on Thursday, and Cam Ward will likely take the net. The veteran backstop entered this season with a target-worthy .909 save percentage dating back to 2011-12, too.
Ryan Johansen, NAS at CHI ($5,200): The Blackhawks are allowing the second-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (13.6) in the league this year, and Johansen checks out at a discounted salary. The center has collected an assist in consecutive contests while averaging 21:49 of ice time (5:08 on the power play), and he also tied his season high of four shots last time out.
WING
Filip Forsberg, NAS at CHI ($7,200): The emerging superstar has found the scoresheet in seven of nine games this season for seven goals, 12 points and 26 shots. As noted, the Blackhawks don't project as a daunting matchup, and Forsberg pairs well with linemate Ryan Johansen as an afford stack. Along with third-wheel Viktor Arvidsson, Nashville's No. 1 line has scored an impressive 3.65 goals per 60 minutes this season, too.
Johnny Gaudreau, CGY vs. DAL ($4,900): Dallas enters this contest on the wrong end of back-to-back road games after losing to Edmonton 5-4 on Thursday. Gaudreau is off to an excellent start this season with 12 points through 10 games, and he's remained especially dangerous on home ice. Dating back to 2015-16, Gaudreau has 34 goals and 93 points through 81 games at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Kyle Connor, WPG at CLM ($4,100): While the Blue Jackets are a daunting opponent, it's rare to find a top-line player who projects to receive power-play time in this price range. Connor is a talented scorer and has collected two helpers through three games this season. He's a strong option to provide cap relief without sacrificing upside.
DEFENSE
Seth Jones, CLM vs. WPG ($5,100): This is the second stop of a road back-to-back set for the Jets, and Steve Mason (.846 save percentage and 5.96 GAA) projects to start for Winnipeg. So, it should prove to be a soft matchup for Columbus. Jones is churning out rock-solid numbers with two goals, seven points, 26 shots and 18 blocked shots while logging 23:34 of ice time per night. He's also receiving power-play looks with the second unit and checks out as a high-floor option.
T.J. Brodie, CGY vs. DAL ($4,900): With an uptick in shot volume (2.0 per contest) and eight points through 10 games to start the campaign, Brodie is a strong lean. He's averaging 4:12 of power-play time per game while quarterbacking the No. 1 unit, and the 27-year-old defenseman also is a willing shot blocker. As noted, the should prove to be a favorable matchup for Calgary, and Brodie helps mitigate Johnny Gaudreau's high salary in a potential stack.
