The Preview

An intriguing cut sweat around even-par combined with a stacked 36-hole leaderboard provided excitement at Augusta National last week, but entertainment levels dipped throughout the final two rounds as Dustin Johnson ran away with the Masters tournament scoring record and his first green jacket. The PGA Tour won't leave the state of Georgia this week as Sea Island plays host to the annual RSM Classic, where three rounds will be played on the Seaside Course and one on the Plantation Course. The latter layout provides players with a better chance to go low one of the first two days, but 2019 champ Tyler Duncan still managed to card a 61 on the Seaside 18 en route to victory last year. This is far from a bomber's paradise, so precision both off the tee and into bermuda greens will determine profitable outcomes.

Cream of the Crop

Webb Simpson - $50

Aside from Tyrrell Hatton, Simpson is the only other representative from the OWGR's top-15 in attendance this week at the Sea Island Resort where he's finished runner-up twice. He lost in a playoff to Tyler Duncan here last year after tallying a tournament-best 25 birdies in 72 holes of regulation. Coming off a top-10 performance at Augusta National, Simpson has gained an average of 3.5 strokes from tee to green per event over his last 10 measured tournaments.

Sungjae Im - $43

Im got plenty of airtime this past week on the Masters broadcast en route to a T2 in his maiden Augusta appearance, ultimately shooting 70 or better all four days. Looking ahead to his second career trip to the Sea Island Resort, Im has statistically been at his best on the bermuda putting surfaces he'll continue to see in Georgia with an average of 0.42 strokes gained per round with the flat stick. Over his last 24 rounds, Im ranks top-15 in both SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach.

Glue Guys

Russell Henley - $35

Rested after failing to qualify for the Masters this year, Henley is still enjoying an impressive streak of seven straight top-30s dating back to the Wyndham Championship prior to the FedExCup Playoffs. In late October he went T3-T4 at the CJ Cup and the ZOZO Championship, so he's currently ranked ninth on Tour in SG: Approach, 10th in GIR percentage and 15th in driving accuracy. Additionally, Henley owns three top-10s in six RSM Classic showings.

Sebastian Munoz - $33

Easily one of the most underrated golfers since the summer of 2019, Munoz posted a top-20 in his Masters debut last week and jumped up to a career-best 55th in the OWGR. The 27-year-old Colombian has placed T27 or better in five consecutive events throughout the fall series, dating to the Sanderson Farms Championship on the heels of a made cut at the U.S. Open. Munoz earned solo-third honors last year at The RSM Classic, ranking T7 or better in GIR percentage, driving distance and putting average.

Corey Conners - $33

Conners' weekly ceiling depends on whether or not he can simply putt at an average or slightly above-average level, but his swing tempo and overall ball-striking is a serious thing of beauty. The Canadian crept into the top-10 at the Masters as he played his final 54 holes in a collective 11-under-par. He has now finished top-25 in three straight starts, beginning with a T8 at the ZOZO Championship. In 62 measured rounds last season, Conners ranked sixth in GIR percentage, 20th in driving accuracy, 12th in SG: Approach and 54th in par-4 scoring.

Bargain Bin

Denny McCarthy - $28

Known as an elite putter, McCarthy actually ranked outside the top-20 in putting average on the way to his T8 here at the RSM Classic last year, with his success instead attributed to the fact he hit 59 of 72 greens in regulation. More recently, McCarthy hasn't missed a cut since his first start of the season and he's even added a pair of top-6s during the fall series.

C.T. Pan - $21

With just one missed cut in 11 starts dating to mid-July's Workday Charity Open, Pan's solid chances of at least advancing to the weekend give him a value boost down here in the low-$20, punt-play range. Not to mention he's also coming off his best ever finish in a major with a T7 at Augusta and ranks 22nd in SG: Approach over his last 36 rounds.
